Put the bottle down.  Marshall is a better choice and it's not even close.

EDIT:  Alford over Archie Miller?  I'm not sold on Archie but what have you seen from Alford?

Marshall wouldn't recruit better than Alford. Alford would lock down the state and bring Wilkes.

Alford recruits better in Indiana than Iu's current coach...

It took me a minute to realize what was going on, but I recognize that format anywhere. This is incredible.

Found it on Twitter lol. For anyone confused, this is from a discussion board on Canvas (the site IU uses for all of its classes). I'm really curious what led Thomas Bryant to telling his class about the time he accidentally hooked up with his friend's girl.

In today's age, there is no such thing as "locking down the state". Social media and technology in general has forever changed that. It's well known that Wilkes went to UCLA for the supposed connections in LA he could make. Not for Alford

These insiders have nothing but their word granting them credibility on these forums. If they were merely "speculating", they'd certainly keep their opinions to themselves. Radio/newspaper schmucks (Doyel) are paid to put out their opinions and bring in viewers. Insiders are rewarded when the make the correct call early, media is rewarded when they get the most clicks. Who would you put more faith in?

Exactly! Major media is the last to receive accurate and important intel.

At this point, I feel that we will be lucky to come out of this with a new coach.

Exactly. If BS was our #1 and said no and BD was our #2 and won't commit then what does that say about how the IU job is viewed? If IU is still so great and a blue blood then why do we have to settle for 3rd,4th, or 5th choices? Are there such deep issues in the athletic department that high profile coaches don't want any part of? Is Fred Glass the problem?

I'm not sure if it is the pace of this thread that is making my head spin or if I am just sick as to the thought of who the next coach might be.

I hear ya.  I can't take much more.  I might have to go into hiding until the smoke clears.

For an AD that forced Curt Miller and Kevin Wilson out of their positions - not arguing if that was right or wrong - I can't fathom going after Alford and the personal character baggage he drags behind him apparently dating all the way from his days on campus as a player to the handling of the Iowa rape matter and the other innuendos about him at Iowa and New Mexico that do not speak highly for his personal character.
