I can tell you day before Sampson hire I asked someone very much on the inside I knew well at time (and have not talked to since) if they knew who IU's next coach would be? Not only did they not say they couldn't talk about it (which I would of been fine with) they said they had no idea. Next day I hear that person thanked as an integral part of bringing Sampson aboard at introduction press conference. Needless to say I was angry at time when I heard his name at press conference and hated him more as Sampson screwed the University. I also have a friend on the inside who often tells me he can't talk about various things I've asked him about IU which I perfectly respect and he remains a friend to this day. Just don't lie to me. My main point though is how many 'sources' have been lied to by someone within they think they know well only to find out they had their leg pulled? McRobbie would need to clean house. That's something that would make me never watch Indiana again until our department is wiped out completely. If the rumors are true and Illinois is willing to pony up, why the hell can't we? Why is Tom Crean STILL our coach? Is there anyone with some freaking sense in our athletic department, university execs or board of trustees. What a disaster this could be. We'll look incredibly weak.
