My opinion?
We're not a very good team right now, but if disappointment with CTC keeps y'all from enjoying a 3OT win, maybe it's time to step back and reassess what you think is enjoyable about IUBB for a bit.
Those players have some real limitations, but they gave every little bit they had and pulled one out of the fire twice. That was a weird, memorable, ridiculous, awful game, and I'm glad we won it.
Just my opinion.

I will take the win but that game put on display all of our problems. 20 plus turnovers not good. Blowing leads not good. This game delayed what i feel is the inevitable this season. If we can win the next two i will give them credit but i cant handle this style of play and other than effort i cant offer much else for last nights performance

I saw that last night.  I appreciate this from Calbert.  I've read a couple of times the relationship between Calbert & CTC wasn't/isn't that good per disgruntled fans on social media.  It's good to know that Calbert respects the fight despite the noise from our fan base.

I completely get this perspective and trust me I want the team to win too. But at this point I'm focusing on all of the constant negatives we see every year like turnovers, D, and half-court offense. And all of it is still there. 23 turnovers? 102 points? To penn state? It's just so hard to see positives with this coaching staff in place. I want the kids to win no doubt, but I feel like every win is one step closer to Crean keeping his job and settling for mediocrity for years to come. It's some real conflicting emotions, and it sucks. I find myself leaning towards Treesh's line of thinking quite a bit.

Completely agree man. I do want the players to win but it is hard to find positives when it's the same stupid crap over and over again. I feel that every win Crean gets from this point on will help him keep his job. Glass would come out and say that he did well considering the circumstances. And Treesh's line of thinking is absolutely right. And I've felt this way for 4 years now lol

Two stats they mentioned during the game that really hit home: 1) We had split the last six games with PSU, and 2) Most (all?) were decided by 3 points or less.  This is against a middle of the road B10 team after CTC has been here 6-9 years.  I guess the positive spin on it would be lots of close competitive games with the Nittany Lions?

Someone else mentioned that the Purdue game was preempted for the entire first half.  This is one of the reasons I'm planning to drop cable TV.  Games are scheduled every 2 hours and regularly mean missed coverage like what happened last night (albeit rarely an entire half).  My other beef is that I don't get all ESPN channels in my package - aside from there being times where a game (IU football or basketball) is on one channel I don't get, very frequently when these games run over they'll shift our game from a channel I DO get to one that I don't get - so it's effectively a black out.  Sorry for the rant, but I want to see my team play and should get what I pay for.

Interesting to see Newkirk go off against ok competition.

I just need IU to make it to the tournament. Anything can happen from there although I have zero confidence in this team, as a fan right now.

And no, I don't think Creans status changes just because we squeak into the tourney

-IU will NEVER fire a coach after COY and a tourney appearance (regardless of seeding)

-IU MAYBE will fire a coach after COY and then missing the tournament. Although I doubt this too.

I think if something happens this year it's Crean's decision based on pressure to succeed and personal life choices.

IU is happy with its results and wishes the fans would be happy too.

Newkirk missed one, Bryant missed one, and Green missed two. I believe that was the second OT. Davis has been pretty clutch at the line.
