Of course they are careless. You are more likely to get benched for playing well than for turning it over with Crean.

Tickets to this game for me were a Christmas gift. We looked awful and the crowd was not into not surprising with students not on campus and we looked confused.

Could be. If so, Crean seems to have a history of getting stuck with guys who he feels have to play but who are not good for the team.

JBJ 4/14 with 12pts and 2 TO'S and an all important missed wide the f*#k open layup and everyone continues to bash and put the blame on Newkirk. Saw how this was going to go when our first shot was a 25 footer by TB. Davis and Johnson were the only players that showed up. Whatever five we have out there, Davis should get 20min per game. When he is out there with TB, Bryant wants to play out top way too much. Would love to see Rojo, JBJ, OG, TB and Davis out there more together. Oh well, guess that's why I'm here on the couch!

I completely agree with you. Davis is much better defensively than Bryant and he plays hard deserving more minutes. It's a shame that Tom "kisses his son" Crean doesn't play him more.

I'm sure this has been said already but Josh Newkirk is god awful. It's a shame that he is taking away minutes from Cujo and Green, who are already better and could use more development. As a point guard your only actual job is to take care of the ball, which he is inept at doing. I really hope he transfers cause if he does not I have a bad feeling Green or Cujo will.

Teams emulate their coach. MSU is young and not a great team but they fought back, on the road, in the B1G to win their opener.

We fumble and throw the ball all over the gym, take horrible shots, give up a ton of offensive rebounds (to include FTs), and give up easy layups. I've said it in DMs before but Crean's brain seems to be going a thousand miles per hour without a clear means to the end. His teams play exactly how he thinks and acts. It hasn't been winning basketball and it won't be winning basketball. He would be better off at a football school in the south and IU would be better off with someone not named Crean.

Remember last year when Crean kept talking about how good Newkirk was in practice? Crean will stick with him. Its vj3 all over again only now we actually have better options.

As awkward as that was I think using that in your label for him completely distracts from any point you are trying to make. Don't mistake me for a supporter of his, I am not, but you can critique him without this.

So we really miss Yogi. Newkirk is obviously a pretty big downgrade. JBJ can't create well enough on his own. This is a game we should have had, just going to hurt our chances of winning the B1G outright.

Some of you guys take such big swings in your posting. I don't think we will, never really did, but they aren't out of it because of one game. We always lose games we shouldn't, other teams will too. Also other than Wisconsin, who in this conference makes you think they're just going to run away with the conference.

I mean we'll probably do something they don't expect them to like win at Wisconsin or something else as ridiculous. I mean Cody's sophomore year we had no business winning at Michigan or MSU, yet they did. Just saying we always do things like this.

 

I mean I agree I don't expect to win the B1G outright, but we're one game into B1G play
