Good hustler. Not overly athletic. Played big minutes. Smart/Passer. Fumbled ball several times. Didn't have a good game. Stevenson-slasher type. Athletic. College size. Hollins- known for defense. Hit some jumpers. Couple 3's. Terrible backcourt violation. Reddish looked very good. Ayton was great. Versatile. (Randolph) Arizona getting 2 great players. Bamba-super skinny. Great shot blocker.Shareef O'Neal----Shaquille interviewed. Mentioned UK, LSU, Arizona. goonaha Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 The new staff is still involved. Westtown 6-foot-9 power forward Jake Forrester has over 15 major conference offers and is beginning to figure out a recruitment that includes schools from all over the country.“I’m hearing the most from Notre Dame, South Carolina, Providence, Indiana, Virginia Tech, Pitt, Seton Hall, Virginia, there is a lot,” Jake told GI.Forrester told ZagsBlog a few weeks ago that “Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Miami, VCU, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, South Carolina and Temple were some of the schools recruiting him the hardest.Clearly the young man has several options and keeping the long list memorized is tough. Another step that Jake is taking with his recruitment is visits. Jake has traveled to Seton Hall, Pitt, South Carolina, and Penn State so far.Forrester has also been talking to the Gophers some.“Yes, I have been hearing from Minnesota, they have been in contact as well,” Jake said. “And Arizona State and Temple.”Jake has consistently said that he plans to take visits this summer and mentioned to Zags Blog “I’m going to cut (my list) down after Peach Jam for sure, 100 percent.”In the meantime he has big goals to accomplish in July in addition to cutting his list.“I'm hoping to accomplish getting into the top 50 this July (individual rankings) and also I'm looking forward to winning Peach Jam!”Big goals for an explosive four man with a lot going on.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted July 8, 2017 Author Posted July 8, 2017 As a refresher, Forrester held an IU offer from FCTC. He plays AAU ball on the PSA Cardinals and is a teammate of '19 Cole Anthony. He's played limited minutes (avg. of 13) in the 10 games he's played and did not participate at all in the end of May event in Los Angeles. He's only taken a single 3-pointer so don't get too excited about his 100% shooting percentage. Jake Forrester '18 (PF) - PSA Cardinals Date Pts. FGM FGA FTM FTA 3PM 3PA Reb Assts. TO's Stls. Blks. Popular Post Stuhoo Posted July 11, 2017 Popular Post Posted July 11, 2017 Wow. He just took unofficials to Pitt and South Carolina, and he's practically lived at Penn St. and none of them are on that list.I just read a May'17 profile on him in which he said that academics are critical, he's not thinking about playing in the NBA or playing for money some day; just becoming as good as he can be, and while he'd like to be able to impact his future team as a freshman, he certainly doesn't expect to start as a freshman.Be still my old school heart! Stuhoo Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 Found the quote - it's from March 2017: “I’m looking for a school that has a great coaching staff and a school that makes a player better,” Forrester said. “I’m not trying to say go to the NBA or make money some day, just try to make a player better than what he already is. That’s one of the biggest factors. And a school that’s big but not too big, and academics. I’m real big on academics.” Forrester does want to make an impact on his team, though. Learning from some of the best is important, but using those skills to contribute to a team is also a factor. For a player with his talent, coming in an impacting a team immediately is something any school is going to take advantage of and is something Forrester will consider in his decision. “I want to go to a school lets me have an impact my freshman year,” Forrester said. “Doesn’t mean I have to start my freshman year, just means I’m able to impact the game.” HoosierAloha, reconmkd and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote

VO5 Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 Watched some videos on him and I'm not impressed. I know you can't judge everything based off of highlight videos, but they usually show you what a player is capable of. One thing I did like was that he seems to have a good nose for the ball. Other than that, didn't see a lot I liked. Iugradman 1 Quote

Doesn't do anything particularly great. Like you say, seems to have good fundamentals and tries to rebound his position. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners VO5 1 Quote
