IU OVER unc POST GAME THREAD

Recommended Posts

What a defensive effort last night, that's what won us this game. Our offense in the second half took a crap, a major crap. Theres just too many times where we stand around the perimeter and play ISO ball. We need to cut it down, it works every now and then, but most of the time is leads to a bad shot or turnover.

Josh finally looked like a decent basketball player today, once again i will say, he's not a PG in the B1G Ten. He's quick and can get into the lane, but he struggles with deciding what to do around the rim. His mid-range shot was good last night, so maybe that will be his new thing?

Overall, it was a great win. I didn't think the game looked that exciting to be honest. The second half was pretty ugly, but the first 10-15 minutes looked like a lot of fun. Do we win this game on the road? I don't know.. Assembly Hall was terrific last night but theres still room for improvement. Glad to see our defense step up and our trapping/rotations last night were a coaches dream. Final note, i hope OG is okay!

Worried about og. I doubt we can beat butler or Louisville without him

Its all gonna depend on getting contributions from the bench.  I think to beat those teams we are gonna need to keep the rotation to the 7 or 8 guys that can give us quality minutes.

Green or Cujo will have to step up, or we will need to run 3 forwards with Davis, Morgan and Bryant on the floor at the same time.  Hopefully these next 3 games we can get them enough PT that Cujo gets back to looking how he had been.

Something to think about. If we hit free throws we beat Ft Wayne, beat UNC and KU easily and are probably #1 in the country next week. And, I dont think weve played all that well yet. Skyes the limit.

Hopefully as the season progresses and the practices get slower paced FTs are something that gets worked on.

I said before the game, Indiana will win if they can limit easy shot opportunities for UNC and not turn the ball over and make a lot of mental errors. So glad to see they came out and looked prepared and played a hell of a game.

Did anyone notice right before the tip-off, the IU starters were in a circle and James Blackmon was getting everyone pumped.. He was saying "LETS BE ******* PHYSICAL." Something of that nature. It was awesome to see that message coming across and seeing James out there showing some leadership skills. And the team really responded. Love it.

Indiana now has two of the best wins in all of college basketball in the early part of the season. This is a HUGE resume building win, regardless of the fact that it was at home... Any update on OG?? That ankle looked bad.

I don't think this team is a final four caliber team yet. If last night was played anywhere else but assembly hall I feel we lose. Great win last night but I feel we gave them one of our best shots and still had trouble. We can get to that level just not sure we are there. If all tourney games were played in the hall we would have a great shot lol

This how I feel. But we beat Kansas on neutral court.

JBJ looked better on defense.  Still a little slow on some rotations, but overall not bad.  His rebounding was huge.  YUGE! Waiting with bated breath for news on OG.  Obviously, he was sick for IPFW, and the team suffered.  Hope it's not bad.  Bryant is strong, but he reminds me of my niece.  She can throw a fastball hard for a 10 year old, but only when the ball isn't in her hands.  Not as much arm movement when she has the ball. Bryant is the same way.  Dude needs to get out of his head, and go up.  Like. A. Boss.  He's got some nice face-up moves though.  Rojo looked pretty darn good as well.  I'm in the same boat as a lot of you with Newkirk.  Wasn't impressed before last night, but his defense was good.  Take care of the ball, SLOW DOWN, and he'll be golden.

Not contemplating if they're a Final Four team yet or not.  Lots of season left to be played, and injuries to avoid!

But we hit big threes against kansas to get us to the finish. I won't take anything from the two big wins and we did beat kansas on neutral court but I feel we lost last night if not for home advantage. Just need to fix a couple things and they can be good. Better d on the inside post and free throws and try to cut turnovers then they can be special

We were up double digits almost the whole game. We just beat two legit top 5 teams. I don't see how we are not the hands down favorite to win the big ten.
