  1. I don't know, that last Dayton guy we got kinda sucked.

  2. I shouldn’t insinuate he can’t play. Of course he can. He’s tough, competitive, good athlete. I just don’t much like his game. He went to Montverde with the idea of developing as a facilitator, but it just didn’t come. He doesn’t read the game that way. He’s a stone scorer. That’s fine, but his stroke has some funk and it’s kind of inconsistent. He can drive it, he’s got mid-range and he can make some contested looks, but he’s not efficient enough for me. But what I really struggle with is that his defense is completely tied to his offense. If he’s not scoring, he’s not helping. He was flat terrible in the Geico game they lost to Sunrise. In the right setting with the right coach he’s gonna be a good player, but if you give me the choice between Johnson and Jakai Newton I’m taking Newton every single time.

  4. Obviously it's impossible to say at this point, but I expect Cupps to be better than RP at just about everything, and I liked Rob a lot. Every time I have seen Cupps play he has played with much more pace and moves the ball very quickly. Phinisee seemed to be trying to decide what to do next quite a bit. I don't see any of that with Cupps. Of course, everything I just said remains to be seen.

  5. Not from this guy. I thought Rob would be better than he was but was never high on him. I remember watching 1 game from James Akinjo and hoping we’d get him. I mean, he wasn’t stellar either but I wasn’t sold on Rob. Cupps is a wait and see from me. Is he athletic/strong enough, is he an elite enough shooter, where will his defense stack up. Maybe with the talent around him he’ll be at his best just being a good facilitator. I like that he doesn’t need to hunt points and wants to win. I hope he wows. The times I’ve watched him he doesn’t supremely impress which justify/solidify his HS ranking. He’s definitively an interesting recruit. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app

  7. Reeves and it isn't even close.

  8. Reeves. Wouldn't tie up a scholarship for upcoming classes, put up better numbers against better competition, and he's 6'4 so not exactly small. We need shooting/scoring that the Dayton kid hasn't shown yet.

  10. "He's a national treasure" and he's got IU in his final five for portal transfer. Highly recommend that you watch the video:

  11. Can you elaborate? I thought I remember him being a big time bucket getter and hustler.

  12. Reeves, better shooter and won't tie up a scholarship

  13. Probably a smart move. If I am a franchise, he's a perfect 2nd round prospect. As a Pacers/Heat fan... I'd take him on either. Great defender with great length who can play the 2 and 3 positions. I think he's a better prospect than a Bufkin(Jordan Poole 2.0).

  14. Not that it couldn’t happen but I feel like expecting coaching to improve someone’s shooting is a bit of a pipe dream.

  15. Agree. Rob is not a good comp at all.

    IUWBB - News and Notes

GREAT NEWS….Why not til 2035? Hope the happiness continues and content in 2027 and extended to 2035…..I interpret it as a modification to current contract pertaining to IU Ladies basketball program success. It can always be modified in future. Glass, Dolson, President of university and IU has been very supportive of T.Moren and IU Ladies basketball program….Good examples are basketball trips and NIT home games.

  20. Immediate opening? Most expect Cupps to be a 3 year starter at PG once X is gone. With that said, his skillset would allow him to play a combo guard so even if we bring a top 3 PG who starts, Cupps would still see a lot of PT.

  21. IU visit June 13-15. Good, good player. It’d be ok if Woody just goes ahead and closes this one while he’s here.

I was the first 2025 that he offered so for him, he made me a priority early so I really respect that about him." https://247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/College-basketball-recruiting-five-star-Jalen-Haralson-discusses-Indiana-Michigan-Michigan-State-Ohio-State-and-Purdue-211000797/

  23. And their schedule will no longer include double plays against the entire bottom half of the conference. And it is unlikely that will go a second straight season without losing one minute to injuries.. F ‘em.
