  3. You can't complain about there being a locker room and cultural problem and simultaneously be upset at a player transfeering whose dad is calling out his son's teammates by name on twitter

  4. That article was a gift from Rick P. on his way out Dodge. Sat down and showed his text messages too a reporter and spilled the beans on how things went with Addidas and the Langford’s. Interesting how his memory and text messages were perfectly intact here, but all forgotten or lost for Bowen!

  9. I very rarely post on here, but I’ve been reading for a few years now. There’s a lot of great info on this forum, but man some people just really suck. If you can’t see through your own bias to see a situation from both sides, gtfoh. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  12. Sometimes we tend to go through life and think we're really having, or have had, it tough. Then you read stories like this and realize...holy crap! My life hasn't been so bad compared to what this person has experienced! A parent walking away from you has got to be one of the most crushing blows that could happen to a young child. Not sure why but Devonte has been my favorite player at IU the last 3 seasons. He can be frustrating at times but I like something about his game. Hope he stays and excels next year. Count me as one of the people who thinks IU could make a step in a positive direction next year. It'll require health, the addition of maybe a key player(or two), and some guys working to develop themselves but I think sometimes it's just as important how parts fit together as it is how much talent those parts have. Maybe I'm just a hopeless optimist, idk but I'm ready.

  14. I have to say that at 19 years old if I knew my family had some financial difficulties and I could makes a lot of guaranteed money right away, they wouldn't have to ask me to do it.....I would be doing it. 19 year old me, 25 year old me, 50 year old me are all different people....kids do have a loyalty to their family and really aren't mentally independent yet. If they were, we wouldn't care what a high school senior's father or mother thought about IU because it wouldn't make a difference in their decision. But it does.

  17. The close out meeting with Archie must not have given him what he wanted to hear. Really liked his enthusiasm on the bench and hate to see him go but wish him the best wherever he goes. Seemed like a really likeable young man.

  20. That article does make one appreciate Devonte as a person. That’s difficult stuff to go through at such a young age. I’m rooting even harder for him now

  21. I read that article when Doyel wrote it. 1) I thought it was disgraceful that he would put a family's private financial business out for public consumption like that. 2) on the other hand? That's not a burden that any parent should lay on their 19 year old child. If he wants to return? I'd hope he would tell them, I'm not responsible for your decisions. I love you and will help you financially at some point in time if I'm able but this is my life and I'm going to walk my own path. I'd hope as parents that's what they'd encourage him to do so.

  23. It's weird to me too if he's transferring because of a lack of playing time. I like his potential and think he will become a contributing player when he's an upperclassman, but he wouldn't have played much this year anywhere that he went. Not sure what he was expecting..

  28. This!! Seems that there are players that a lot on here want gone but now that a few of them have announced that they are in fact transferring it’s turned into bash Miller and the staff. A lot of people seem to be looking for reasons to complain

  32. IMO it's far too early to make a call on Brown as he's still just a sophomore and I just don't get hyper excited any more over who's offering and when they offer. Let's see if he has any more physical development, let's see how he does this summer (and maybe even next summer) in AAU. If PUke or someone else at that level offers in the next 12 months and he jumps on it, then we realistically weren't that high on his list. If there's genuine interest on our part, I'm confident we've made that interest known to Brown.

  35. Oh, so you're also entering the transfer portal? Back to Jake. Wonder if part of the year end discussion could have been a suggestion to take a redshirt year and Jake not interested although he's going to have to sit out a year regardless. No inside info whatsover just aimless speculation.

  38. Too bad. This kid showed promise and could’ve been a contributor in another year or two. Hunter better come back healthy or this class is going to become a bust sans Rob.

  39. It's probably not gonna change much at Jake's next stop, either ... I think his dad played for John Chaney at Temple, so he probably he thinks he knows everything about everything when it comes to hoops.

  43. What? Marshall? I read that wrong right? Wichita state went on a 14-0 run to beat Lipscomb by 7, right? Boy, that Marshall knows how to coach. If that had been Miller or Crean, we would have been the one's losing on a 14-0 run...

  44. Starting to think even Stevens would have sucked at iu right now. Archie didn't just magically forget how to coach a team. It takes time and culture. We have problems let archie have a chance to fix them. Fred goes as archie goes. Fred could easily look like a genius in a few years if football does ok and archie starts winning big.
