Jimmy Jackson with the best “feed the narrative” line of the day so far: the Harris kid from Providence knocks a ball away from Colin Gillespie, saves it from going out of bounds and it results in a tie up that goes to Nova. Webber proceeds to extol the hustle play by Gillespie. The Providence kid literally outhustled him to the ball. But he’s not the kid with the name.

I’m excited for Shaka to get canned and get a mid-major rolling again. His gimmick was never going to work at the higher levels, but his VCU teams were fun. 

Needs to go back to the A10 or something. That kind of thing will work at small schools.

Been running errands all day. Just got home. Upset Saturday today huh? Every higher ranked team that’s played today has lost except for Seton Hall. Goodness. March Madness is gonna be bonkers.

A dubious honor.

With a 71-60 loss to Illinois State today, Evansville finishes 0-18 in Missouri Valley play.  On November 12, the Purple Aces beat No. 1 Kentucky, 67-64.  They are the first team in NCAA history to beat the AP No. 1 team and lose all of their conference games in a single season.

Given the $$ at stake for the NCAA, it would have to become a genuine national emergency before they'd consider such a step.
