For everyone wondering why Bill Self flipped out at the end of the game. Johnson was out of bounds and jumped and grabbed the ball before establishing his feet back in bounds. A big break for IU at that point.

Unfortunately it looked like the refs were trying to make up for that call the rest of the game for Kansas. That last Thomas Bryant foul was horrible

Only complaint is get the ball to good free throw shooters in obvious foul situations. But what a performance from our freshman and jbj struggled on defense but what a offensive display he put on. We will improve on defense i believe that season has promise

1) free throws - could've ended it way earlier
2) the floor sucked - everyone esp OG was slipping
3) our defense was above average- despite the score bc KU is really good
4) best I've seen our offense play in the half court under crean. No stall outs.
5) fouls were ridiculous on both sides but way worse with calls on Morgan. And Bryant's 5th was beyond ridiculous
6) we apparently have a deep bench
7) Bryant gives crazy effort
8) OG disappeared in the 2nd half vs jbj came alive
9) if we keep improving our defense and #4 above stays true - we'll be really good come march / April

I thought the same thing at first but he was ripping into the ref about not getting the foul call before RoJo caught the ball without establishing himself inbounds. Mason then proceeded to get every call the rest of the game.

Rojo had a terrible game. That's how he started out last year. Fairly confident he'll fix it.

He had a few moments especially in the 2nd with I think back to back layups.

And everybody was worried about the offense. Defense is way beyond where it was at the start of last year. Let's hope we have a similar progression.

Newkirk is ultra quick and can get in the lane but can't finish at the rim. If he can start finishing the defense will actually collapse to open shooters. If he can't finish he won't be nearly as effective.

Much better start than last year. Way to hang in during the early struggles and then surge for the win.

Rob had a very good 3 minutes. Need much more of that.

Cldnt have asked for a better start to the season!!! The player I was most impressed with (besides JB) wld be Juwan Morgan. He came up big for us down the stretch with his D, rebounding, n his hustle. The stat sheet may not show it but he out worked everyone on the floor tonight. I was hoping to see more out of De'ron Davis but he shld come into his own with more PT n once he gets more comfortable with the syle of college basketball. Him n cujo stepped up huge at the line with the game on the line. Not too bad for 2 freshman n a big time moment
