Alford Bailey Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Big time win for the program. Mentally we now know we can beat a good program not just hang close. Huge win. ALASKA HOOSIER, Napleshoosier, Hoosierfan2017 and 3 others 6 Quote

Popular Post JSHoosier Posted October 2, 2016 Popular Post Posted October 2, 2016 We can finally say we won because of defense, and we absolutely did. The defense carried the team for the majority of the game then stepped up and allowed nothing in OT after getting shredded at the end of regulation; the only reason we even had a chance is because the defense kept us in that game. I think we've seen more improvement on that side under Allen in just 3 games then we ever saw with Knorr, not to mention the moron before him. The offense started to click at the right time, but stunk for 3 quarters. Lagow was a key part of the comeback, but he was a big part of why the offense stunk too; frankly he sucked for the majority of the game and a benching would've been deserved. He started playing smart, but that doesn't eliminate that he stunk out loud for so long. Oakes couldn't have been much worse, missed 3 field goals and the game winner was tipped. mdn82, ALASKA HOOSIER, MartintheMopMan and 6 others 9 Quote
hsrtxp Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 I remember last year someone talking about IUFB progression and I think we just saw another example of it yesterday. Big losses-> small losses -> small wins --> big wins. Loved the defense. Yes they had their lapses, but overall a huge improvement! Lagow, well hopefully he continues to improve. Second half was better. He's not Suds, but he showed improvement. Still really excited about that game. Big step for the program IMO. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Crimson and Cream 1 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 The biggest concern for me is Wilson screaming at Lagow "What's the call, what's the call?!" during that timeout in the second half. That indicates Lagow is either not picking up the call from the sideline or not understanding the call. He had a few bad throws through three quarters. I was upset with the overthrow of Paige on the wheel route but that was a heck of a play by the MSU DB. CKW made several calls that baffled me. On the opening drive he decided not to go for it on 4th and short. Oakes missed a few kicks but he should have had the opportunity to kick the short one down on the goal line. We have a defense that can stop people sometimes. We need to get points when we can, not have our 270 pound RB throwing a pass to our TE on a roll out. That was bizarre. Glad IU got the win and hopefully this gets students excited about football. Student tickets are cheap and it's actually a great time at the games. Learn to sneak in some alcohol and keep the buzz going throughout the game! IU is halfway to a bowl game just 1/3 of the way into the season with some very winnable games coming up. Let's get it! Had some Sparty behind me. They were cool for the most part, guy in front of me got super salty near the end though, it was hilarious. He went from laughing and bragging when they were up to pacing and cursing at the end. I may or may not have taken video of him while waving goodbye. LockdownD and RBB89 2 Quote

Paige just made a great adjustment to make the catch. His overall lack of awareness about what's going on combined with his absolutely putrid accuracy and touch on throws is very alarming. I understand he's probably our best bet at QB but that worries me. Quote
