I keep checking my notifications for news of the termination of Chris Ballard.

Your wish is Carlie’s command.

I assume the next move is Dodds or whomever is playing GM for now moves everyone with any value at all. Accumulate all the picks you can.

I'm surprised Steichen didn't get canned first. I guess that's the benefit of Carlie being on the sideline every game instead of a luxury box; the GM doesn't get the chance to sweet talk you into blaming all the problems on the head coach.

All signs are pointing to a fire sale when the GM goes first.

I am surprised he lasted through last season, so it kinda surprises me.  Carlie is ready to burn it to the ground and start fresh I bet.  I don't mind Steichen, but this should be a sign he is gone at the end of the season.  Picking Richardson and him bombing really put a lot of hurt on the organization, and now you get to do it again.

Why can I see Carlie name her and her clipboard the next GM like Jerry Jones did

Nah, I don't see that.  I would bet that she will get someone with a track record or was behind a guy with one.

So does having Sauce Gardner and no 2027 first rounder.

This is the same fan base that loved Jeff Saturday being hired when he was. They'd love it

I got shouted at constantly online by people that I just don't know ball and Saturday was a good hire. Then the dumpster fire became obvious to people when they saw how unprepared he was.

Same fan base that was shouting about wanting to win games before the Richardson draft. Its a dumb fan base that woulld love it.

I forgot the obvious. This is the fan base that was excited about old @$$ Rivers coming back last year.

Just a heads up: there is a massive overlap between the IU and Colts fanbases on this board. You’re completely entitled to your opinion on the team—trust me, plenty of us Colts fans have been frustrated with Irsay's decisions for years.

But painting the entire fanbase with one brush here is basically insulting a huge chunk of this community. It’s a "Colts/Bears/NFL" thread for a reason.

My grandfather always had a saying about separating thought from action, and online, and in life, that means thinking about how our words impact the people around us. Unless it's a rival like Purdue, it's usually not a great idea to blanket-bash a team so deeply tied to the same state or region as the message board topic.

But it does kind of make sense if you think about it.

In what world does it make sense? This is exactly what I'm talking about with Colts fans. They just want the feel good moments of an era thats been done for 15+ years now. Its done, its over with. Move on

The only thing he could do is give his opinion or his thoughts on the GM candidates they are considering or looking to hire.  If I squint hard enough, I could possibly see him in the room asking questions in an interview, but that is about it.  He doesn't have the experience to be a GM, and I don't think Carlie would do that seeing her and her sisters have been thinking about firing Ballard for the last 8 or 9 months.

Do have to admit I am glad that Kevin Bowen, a very prominent media voice in the Colts world, got on his morning show this morning and advocated hard for trading dudes, named Buckner, Taylor, and Nelson. It needs to be done. This needs to be burned to the ground and new voices need to be brought in and bring in their people.

Honestly, I don't think it matters if someone with an NFL background needs GM experience to be a GM. John Lynch is a good example. John Elway is another example. The question is whether or not Manning would even want to pursue that type of career. He's already got a good thing going. But if he wanted to he'd probably just have to make a call to the Irsay owners and they'd probably give him the keys.
