Who would you want as a potential draft pick next year, since hitting on QBs outside of the first see,s ill-advised. Bryce Young, CJ Stroud. pr two years from now Caleb Williams?

Realistically colts need to load up at WR and hope Wentz improves. If he doesn’t then you cut him for no dead cap and move on with a new HC and QB.

Russell Wilson wants out of Seattle.  Let's do something crazy.  Russell Wilson - Jonathan Taylor trade.

Then throw Wentz in the trash.

No thanks. He was bad this year. Is just getting older. He just came from a situation where the offensive line can't pass protect and ours sucks at it too. Plus he had better receiving options there than here.

JT is one of the best 2 backs in the league with being one of the 5 best skill position players in the league. Plus he is only 22. You'd be bringing Russ into a situation with no offensive talent, little assets to get weapons, and giving up the best player on the team.

This is pretty much it, except I doubt they’ll actually load up at WR. They’ll sign a value proposition WR in free agency, probably draft a guy in the 3rd or 4th. Then they’ll sign a 30+  yr old TE to replace Doyle. They’ll flirt with some LT and then go with Pryor unless they absolutely luck into one in the 2nd. Throw in a 4th CB and a few depth guys along with another day 3 QB and call it a day. And Ballard will, of course, be lauded for his camp management while again fielding a team that’s good enough to follow but not good enough to actually win anything.
Wow, I feel better now.

I meaan who even is a free agent at WR this year? I would have loved Jameson, but we don't have a first. Plus LT is such a pressing matter. Fischer cuked this year.

Doing a quick search the top 3 are Allen Robinson, Godwin, and Adams. Then a pretty huge drop off.

We could always get Evan Engram to have Ebron 2.0, lol

I know JT is young, but the lifespan of a running back in the NFL is incredibly short.  And our window to win is now.  I don't want a rookie and I certainly don't want Wentz.  Wilson is a win now option imo

Agreed Colts are screwed next year. They will be stuck in this 9-8, 8-9 range until they find an Elite QB. If Colts didn’t have Taylor I think they would have been a 5/6 win team. They are cap strapped this off-season with terrible draft capital.  Teams are going to continue to stack the box and stop the run. Personally, I don’t think they will be any better while the Jags and Texans will get better. The DB situation the colts have is only going to get worse. Only hope is a DB falls to them in the 2nd that’s best available. They don’t really have that elite edge rusher that can get a sack. The OL is good but have to replace GLOW and need a LT. I think if Colts get off to a slow start next year I think Reich gets canned and Wentz get dealt at the deadline to a QB needy team who needs a QB because their QB got hurt (Example Saints this year). Colts might need a stretch where they are the Jags to tear it down to get it backup. They’re going to be wasting the next 2 years anyways of players prime.

That's a lot more pessimistic than I am.  We have a lot of talent on this team but had horrible quarterback play this year.  If we get an upgrade there we'll be competing for the division title

I used to really love to watch the Colts in the Manning era, but the last 10 years I found myself watching more Redzone/other NFL games then Colts. Maybe I’m wrong but I feel like if you don’t have a great QB your not going to win the Super Bowl. If the Colts got a Rodgers or Wilson… Yes they 100% could win it all. The likeliness of that happening is slim. I think Wentz needs to find an off-season program that can help him with accuracy. Felt like the last few weeks he missed his man high or behind a lot. Maybe wrong routes but just seemed like he struggled with that.

They are projected to have the 7th most cap space this offseason according to spotrac.com (~$57M). Whether Ballard does anything with it is another debate.

I think that will be significantly less because they will pay Nelson this off-season. Probably around 35 mil by the time they resign a guy or 2 also. I mean they need what in terms of positioning I feel like they have some holes.

Putting arm talent aside, if you just watched Justin Herbert’s balls and competitiveness and you’re okay with Carson Wentz, I got nothin’ for ya. That’s what a Guy looks like right there.

I just don't get how you think they get an upgrade. And again no to Russ. We don't have a team he can be successful on, even more if we trade JT like you suggested earlier
