Demo Posted September 6, 2025 Posted September 6, 2025 Nice, Sean McDonough in the Ole Miss-UK game just described a play as “rare missed tackling by Kentucky” after watching them give up probably 100 yards by missed tackles in the 1st staff. Brain on autopilot. Quote

We’re already paying him $9M and the staff budget is literally huge, easily top-10. Hard to pay him much more. Other schools can offer more NIL and football culture. But do they want an older guy who has never recruited 5*’s in their part of the country? Maybe. I feel pretty good he stays — starting over somewhere is tough at his age and he would likely lose autonomy, job security, etc. at other schools. He’s got plenty left to accomplish here and the fit is good. But we do need to keep giving FB resources to win. I dunno, just how I see it. Stuhoo, Jeff Flabjohns and Hoosierfan2017 2 1 Quote

If you’re Coach Cig, is Florida even that appealing of a job? If his goal has always been a “name” school then we can’t compete with that. But it’s almost the iubb problem for Florida. They’re in a conference with Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Texas, and that’s before you get into school like Tennessee, Oklahoma, Ole Miss. The fans expect SEC and national championships. Florida would be way more pressure, and for what? (Assuming IU is giving him whatever he asks for). If Cig was 50 years old I think it’s a totally different conversation, but he’s 64. Yeah, as often as the IUBB/Nebraska FB comp is tossed around I think the path UF football is taking might ultimately be a more accurate comp. It looks like a great job but there’s a lot of headwind there. Nobody at this point thinks Nebraska’s a great job. Rico 1 Quote
