Glad to hear Davis bring up IU in the SMU/Bama conversation because I’d be willing to bet my house that there was a decent segment of that committee that wanted to keep SMU in because of the championship game piece and Bama because of SOS and leave IU out. I don’t think IU was close to a lock here.

Nah man, they were a lock. No way in hell they would create a mess of leaving out a one loss Big Ten school in a 12 team playoff. No way in hell. Not a chance. The likely discussions with IUFB was more about hosting a game.

So damn proud of this program and staff. I knew we were going to be over 5.5 wins like Vegas predicted. But to be in the playoffs in the first year? Incredible. I've been to one game this season, couldn't make anymore due to my job and location but have watched every game.

I hope you all enjoy going to the game if you're able to in a couple weeks.

Go Hoosiers!

Yeah, no way they wanted to set that precedent. Plus, the CFP chair is Michigan AD Warde Manuel.

Cheapest tickets last night for ND hosting were $437 before fees.

They’ve tripled. I really hope no one is buying at those prices. It’s a cash grab right now.

You give the committee way more credit than I do because I see no universe in which there would have been any even semi-serious conversation about putting IU ahead of UT, OSU, ND or PSU. I think they got the best draw they could have reasonably gotten because I love them against ND.

And f**k Joey Galloway and his big mouth trying to say IU’s schedule was not equal to PSU’s because we didn’t play Oregon.  He’s a blatant ahole.

Pretty confident we could have lost to Oregon and gone 11-2 as well lol.  Their best win was a 1 point win over minny. What a joke.

As an avid Purdoo ‘rooter-againster’, I am very happy with their choice.

Seems like a guy with a proven track record of not a high ceiling. Apparently he currently has a hot OC. If that guy doesn’t come with him I’ll like this even more. Odom is likely just another guy, and they are now financially committed to both him and the remnants of Walters.

I think it’s pretty uninspired. He was pretty mediocre and unpopular at Mizzou. But there is kind of a poor man’s Mallory element to it in that if he comes in and does a solid job he can stabilize things for a long term because he’s not gonna get poached. Given the Brohm deal and the gamble on Walters I would think they put a lot of stock this time on the possibility of stability.

8:00 PM in South Bend.

Could be a very chilly game.

Who does that help/hurt ?

Weather models (something I track out of nerdiness, but know nothing about) actually have a pretty consistent warm/dry spell through the end of the year.

If that doesn’t hold though, ND has no pass game to take away so I’d assume anything impacting the passing game works in their favor.

So you’re saying we want good weather?

We proved that we can throw it in bad weather last week so I’m not too worried either way. Just saying ND can’t throw the ball when it’s sunny and 75 so some cold or precipitation wouldn’t do much to them.

So cold might not matter to a great extent but hopefully it is dry.
