Purdue is probably 2 or 3 touchdowns better than we are. Sad, really sad!

It is sad but it does illustrate the difference a coach can make,

Wilson won a grand total of 10 BT games in his last 4 years. 40% of those (4/10) were against historically awful PU teams. How lucky for Wilson, that PU was really bad, as he needed PU wins to get into his two bowls.  So PU was absolutey at the bottom of the barrel but a new coach immediately helped them get some decent wins.  I hate PU but it is fairly impressive.

So the OSU QB just underthrew his receiver and the PU DB was called for pass interference when he made contact as the OSU receiver came back to the ball.  Herbstreit says good call as there was obvious contact.

The same thing happened in the IU game, when IU had the ball, but pass interference was not called.  Griese said that was a good  no-call because the offense should not be rewarded for a poorly thrown ball.  Sometimes it is like the NBA where the “stars” or prestigous teams (ie PSU) get calls but the IU’s of the world do not get 50/50 calls.

Wish we had gone out and gotten a real coaching staff like Purdue just saying

I don't want to disrespect Coach Allen, but it was ridiculous to not have a search to fill a power five vacancy. To promote an assistant is embarrassing. Purdue did it right and we are going to suffer for it.

It would be one thing if Allen had been interviewing for HC positions elsewhere.

Still don’t want to hear it now. You’re too easily influenced to doubt IU fleek. They’re playing great tonight but they also gave Eastern Michigan one of their 2 wins. Our teams are close(they have the coaching edge imo), they’re definitely not “much better” but I know you like to doubt IU on everything so do your thing man.
lol. Ok. I’ve watched every IU game and Purdue game this year. As soon as Blough took over Purdue has been on another level.

Look back through the threads. I’ve said so before IU started its losing streak and Purdue began its winning streak.

I call things like they are. Not “too easy to doubt IU”

Ridiculous.

Here’s the difference between Purdue and IU right now. Purdue has won big games in the past and even thought it has been down the past few years, their culture is still “Let’s finish this game.”

IU’s mindset during these big games vs OSU, UM, MSU, etc is “how do we not screw this up and hope we can hang on.”

How to change this is an entirely different topic altogether.

On second thought I’ll continue this in the mod forum.

I’m realistic. I’ve been very optimistic regarding IUBB and Archie as things have unfolded. I react to what’s happening on the court and off and continue to reassess things at all times. Even with a bad season last year, I’ve remained generally optimistic about IUBB.

As far as IUFB, I’ve been one of the better predictors of their results each and every year. As others have overrated the football team, I’ve judged them accordingly and at all times.

RE: Indiana vs Purdue. I’m talking right now and trending forward. Not last year. Last year means little. Since Purdue has started Blough, they’ve HAVE been “much better” than IU. No doubt about it.

I was pessimistic about Crean. Why? I was a realist when others weren’t.

IU isn’t a bad football team. We make dumb and ill-timed mistakes. But Purdue has been playing great football with Blough.

I see that post is gone but how could anyone not doubt IU at this point? I'm thinking about running the numbers on how statistically improbable it is that we have lost so many games in a row against good teams.  It's almost unbelievable at this point.

I’m not on the fire Tom Allen train, but it is really easy to doubt IU football right now.

LOL. Purdue lost their first three by a total of 8 points and won their last three by a total of 70 points. Up 20 on OSU.  Run to the mod thread.

Edit up 29 on the #2 team in the country now.

Look at who they played in each of those games they still lost to a bad Eastern Michigan team and a mediocre Missouri team while their big wins come against an awful Nebraska team and a bad Illinois team. OSU is a tremendous win but let’s not pretend that Purdue wouldn’t lose this game if they played 9 more times. The stars aligned and they won which is great for their program

The picture looks a lot different when you show the full story rather than the straw man argument you tried. I do think Purdue is better but they aren’t much better like was implied. It’ll likely be a one score win when we play each other

It’s not running to the mod thread. Fleek is also a mod so doing that it keeps an argument off the board like we’re supposed to. Nice try, but you failed on that one.
