If they lose a game we will have the tie breaker likely.   Only game where we wouldn’t would be Illinois.

Michigan can go us a solid and beat UCLA and Ohio State.   And if then maybe our old buddy from the basement Northwestern can beat OSU for us as well.

Tiebreaker is head to head first, then record against common opponents, then it goes to the record against common opponent from top to bottom.  Since we don't play UCLA, it would be important if we both finish with one loss that UCLA lose to a team we beat.  UCLA has at Minnesota, Illinois, at Michigan, and USC left.  So assuming their one loss was to anyone but Illinois and if we were to win out, we would have the tiebreaker.

BUT that is only if there was a two team tie.

I wasn't disputing it, I was confirming.

Tiebreaker against Wisky is more difficult.  If IU and Wisky both lose one, they would not have any common opponent losses.

I think I just threw up in my mouth with the 1, 2, 5 teams here. We're #6.

I know I am coping a little with our non-con, but North Texas is #56 in FPI and ahead of many P4 teams.

Just sayin’ they were decent.

Also the FPI sure loves Nebraska.

I am intrigued to see how the AP handles the BYU loss. I think IU is better than them, but voters may hesitate to drop BYU below ND, leaving IU stationary at #6 for the week.

They lost to a UCF team who's best win was TCU.  I expect a fall to around 7, just like Texas' drop when they lost to Oklahoma.

I'd expect further. Neither BYU or UCF are SEC teams. Also UCF was running with their back up QB.

I'm gonna question any rating that still has Oregon anywhere that high. Don't they heavily weigh rercruiting rankings? Gonna go with onfield results over stars next to a high school kids name

Yeah I was under the impression that recruit ranking fell out by this time but yeah this is a head scratcher. Unless they factor in injuries somehow

So, we win by the hair of our chinny chin chins against a very average Michigan team ... and jump two spots in the AP poll.

I'll take it!

UCLA riding the JMU effect we did a couple year ago. Unbeaten and up two spots to No. 7 -- after finishing 3-9 last season.
