Random IUBB Recruiting

I hope it's Phinisee just because we'll have rescued him from Pigtown and I think it sends a louder message that IU has a new sheriff in town plucking him out from under Painter's nose.  But I won't be disappointed if it's Jallow.

Agreed. Think Phinisee is the most enthusiastic about us right now. Dark horse pick: Eric Hunter

Not sold Jallow will come to IU. Seems to really like UVA.

Anyone else getting concerned about our Bigs situation? If TB leaves we will be thin in the post. Not seeing many offers go out to bigs for the 2018 class either.

Maybe it's the change in how we offer scholarships but I'm a bit concerned too. Unless Archie believes he can turn Moore into a serviceable backup I think we need a big in 2018. If nothing else someone to defend Davis in practice and spot minutes here and there.

He has to believe that judging by what we are doing

I feel like judging by our offers Miller is content with a front court of Morgan, Davis and Moore for 2018.

I see nothing wrong with it, but would like another body. Smith will be able to play the 4 if needed as well. I expect him to get a grad kid next year in the frontcourt honestly. Don't know why, but just have a feeling.

Seems like guards and wings are his main focus as of now and it should be. Only problem is if Davis or Morgan have a breakout year and leave. Archie will figure it out in that situation though.

Way too early to get concerned.  First AAU sessions just ended; several more yet to go.  I'm still very confident that CAM knows what he's doing and what kind of recruiting he needs to do for '18.

I get why everyone wants to claim this recruiting approach is suddenly flawless and perfect and strategically sensible, but maybe just wait to jump to these conclusions after Archie has signed his own class. Historically, Archie hasn't had a ton of bigs on his Dayton rosters. Over the past three seasons at Dayton he's had one true center who was the only guy 6'9" or taller.

We watched Bol Bol I think

FWIW - Bol was named to the 2nd team for the past weekend EYBL event.

Bol Bol was exceptional during his first four games of EYBL play, helping lead head coach Dan Quinn and company to a 3-1 record. Bol balled out offensively, averaging 21.0 points on 56.6% shooting. He put up 8.2 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game during the same stretch, showing off his dynamic versatility. He told us mid-session that the game is much easier running alongside junior Shareef O'Neal, so Bol should only get better as he gets more comfortable alongside his teammates. They've had minimal practice time together as teammates, so what you saw in Hampton was a product of Bol's natural talent.

True but the same could be said of Crean when he was at Marquette.

Been several comments about lack of evidence we're recruiting any centers.  247's ranking of '18 centers is at

http://247sports.com/Season/2018-Basketball/CompositeRecruitRankings?Position=C

They only list 28 kids so the pool is fairly small:  1 5-star / 7 4-star / 18 3- star / 2 2-star        The 28th ranked center is a kid from Plainfield, IN Gavin Bizeau and an article about him was just published in the Indpls. Star.

He plays AAU ball with Keion Brooks on Spiece Indy Heat and last weekend averaged 5.5 pts. and 3 rebounds in 13 min. of action per game.  DISCLAIMER:  I'm just putting this here for informational purposes since he is a center and is from Indiana and not suggesting we should be on him like flies on roadkill.
