It is shaping up to be but that's something for later. The 2012-2013 season was supposed to go at least 10 deep but with Patterson not making it to the fall semester, Hollowell, HMP, PJ not panning out, and Creek not coming back at full strength it never materialized. Yeah, I remember people on the old scout board saying our 2nd five would finish 2nd in the Big Ten. We ended up being a 6-man team with almost no bench. You never know how it will play out. How does JBJ, and others to a lesser extent, return from their injuries? How do the frosh perform and where do they fit in, ditto for McSwain and Newkirk? I can see it going anywhere from 7-10, without losing much. Quote
HoosierTrav Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 I think a lot of people are underestimating De'Ron Davis' ability to start right away. I understand that it's hard for some to picture him starting over JM, but DD is REALLY good. We can absolutely dominate in the post with him and TB getting run together...... What a problem to have eh? Too many studs in the frontcourt. Quote

What a problem to have eh? Too many studs in the frontcourt. I believe it was an interview after the Derby City all star game that DD said he was told to work on his corner and trail threes. At that time, I felt like we could see DD and TB on the court together. I don't discount DD's abilities but I'm just going the cautiously optimistic approach to frosh outside the top 20ish. On a similar note, I've heard from several people that CuJo could be an absolute steal in this class and could be a lethal scorer off the bench. If both those guys click with all returnees having great seasons we will go 9 deep. That's also not counting McSwain or Green but I'm expecting only solid mop up minutes from them. hurryinghoosier5 Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 I think Colin Hartman is gonna have a great year. He has battled through injuries and doubt his entire time at IU. Gonna be a great leader for this team. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app IUsafety, HoosierAloha and WayneFleekHoosier 3 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appAgree, I'm thinking we see more free throw line turnarounds that he started shooting towards the end of last season. Also, hoping he can be a zone buster by getting in the middle and making plays or scoring. Quote
X-Hoosier Posted August 19, 2016 Author Posted August 19, 2016 I'm going to guess Collin is going to do what he has the last 2 seasons. Collin is solid but honestly isn't as talented as Morgan or DD. He just knows the ways now. He's going to average about 5 points a game and be our token white guy since Priller never actually plays.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app Crimson and Cream 1 Quote

Except Collin is more of your stereotypical white guy. I'm not sure about Kennard. Allen is a known athlete. Collin is a 6-6 white guy that shoots 3's, is tough, smart and not very athletic. He falls perfect into the category. I don't know enough about Kennard other than that he can shoot.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
