Andrewadams16 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I told my wife I was looking forward to next season because I think we will be better. Now, we will greatly miss Yogi, but I feel overall we will be a better team. If everyone stays: - RoJo - Blackmon - Williams - Hartman - Bryant In that line-up, OG or Davis have a good chance at starting in place of Hartman. Our bench will be young, but insanely deep; - OG - Davis - Morgan - Green - CuJo - Niego These 6 will get the bulk of the minutes from the bench. I'm very excited for this team, can't wait! The only thing that I think could be lacking is a true leader presence. One of the things that set yogi apart was his willingness to win and his ability to pull the team together. Someone is going to have to find a way to do that in order for the team to succeed. The talent is there no doubt Sent from my SM-G920P using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

That's the thing though, we've said that basically every year and it still hasn't happened. I fear that he is what he is now. I'd still say I want him back as a senior, but I wouldn't mind to see his minutes go to OG, Morgan, or Hartman at the same time too. aaron51 1 Quote

From what I've been told is that one aspect he hasn't really practiced on, but if he wants to sniff a professional league he better. AKHoosier 1 Quote

The thing is, last night (and the past 10 years too) proved talent wins championships. You need to recruit the McDonald's All American, 5* guys. My point is we need to go hard after Thon Maker to take that extra step. Jam and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote

We say we will be "better" next year every year too and it hasn't happened either. But if we don't delude ourselves then we have nothing at all. Quote

hoosierwhodey Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 With the new rules I fully expect Troy and TB to put their name in the draft. I expect TB to then come back to school. Quote
X-Hoosier Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 TB will be back. He loves college basketball and playing in the Big Ten too much. I can just tell, no sources, no nothing. His reaction after a dunk or all the emotion he shows, you don't see that in the NBA. Which is why College>NBA x1000. Good post... until after that last comma. Because that is 100% wrong. WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 My big concern is: Whenever Yogi was on bench, our offense looked completely lost. I think a healthy Rojo or Newkirk will be good options but I'm worried. MikeRoberts 1 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 If and when Troy leaves, adding Thon Maker would be cool. Wouldn't be surprised to see Priller leave also. Not expecting any other transfers. Quote

Miller'sTheMan Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 If Bryant returns our (possible) starting line-up will be insanely good defensively... Johnson/Blackmon/OG/Davis/Bryant Add Jones, Hartman, Morgan, Green, and Newkirk off the bench and we have depth as well. If Bryant returns I think we have a shot at being better than this year's team especially if Blackmon can replace Yogi's scoring and improve defensively. Quote
Bittersince87 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Should Troy leave? I mean theoretically he needs a lot of development. Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Not a shot at Yogi one bit, but I feel like we will be better next year, because we will have to move the ball more. At times this team relied on Yogi too much and watched him a lot. He deserved a title with what he gave us, but I also think without him it will MAKE us have to be better and more balanced. Unless JBJ takes the scoring load to seriously and ruins the flow, but I see a different Crean than years past and don't think he would allow that. Crean progressing is just as important as any of our players. We are gonna be more athletic next year as well which will help against teams like UNC Quote
