Next year?  I don't know how old you are, and frankly, don't care.  I'm a Cubs fan.  Don't give me that next year ****.  It's all us fans hang our hats on.  Yes, I may have graduated from Indiana State, but, as I've said COUNTLESS times on multiple threads, I bleed cream and crimson.  I was raised on IU basketball.  The best man in my in-laws wedding was Coach Ron Felling.  I've watched plenty of games from the players tunnel.  I want this team to win, and win badly.  Sometimes it just doesn't happen. I still think Crean gets coach of the year when it's all said and done.

 

It just seems with some of you guys, there is nothing, and I mean NOTHING positive that ever comes across my screen from you.  Be happy with what we had this season.  I still have hope for the future.  Take away Rojo's injury, and the outcome might have been different.  Who's to say?  

 

Fire Crean.  Get who?  Then what if they don't produce in 3-4 years?  Fire them, and try someone else? 3-4 years after that, rinse and repeat? Been through it with Notre Dame football, Indiana State Football and Basketball, and, well color me stupid I guess. 

 

No, alcohol isn't a factor in my post. We have a sick almost 4 year old, and she spent a lot of the game snuggled up to me on the couch watching with me.  Made yelling at officials, UNC's ridonkulous shooting percentage, and, well, everything minimal.  

 

I will miss Yogi and the seniors, but hope the youngsters have learned from Yogi and said seniors, and carry on.  I'll root for the Irish from here on out, except for the championship game.  I want my money, and I have Oklahoma winning it all.  I'll take a week or so off, then, Go Cubs Go until spring football games

We're the basketball version of Nebraska football. Is what it is. I don't like it, but I don't think it's going to change anytime soon, if ever. It's been too long and the damage has been too great. This is what we are now. It's not bad, it's just different. 

Maybe I just need be reserved with the idea that iu is simply a middle of the pack type of program.

- You can't blame Crean all for this one. Normally after any Indiana loss I'm just done and ready to put the blame on someone. Could we have played better defense? Sure. But acknowledge the fact that they beat us. Of course it was an amazing performance that no one could've predicted, but it happens. They played just like any team hopes to play. They won.

- Thomas and Troy.. I'd love for them to stay. But Thomas is the only one that I see staying.

- Yogi.. Thank you for everything. What a Hoosier.

Nick and Max will be missed just as much, they go down in the Indiana books as true Hoosier ball players (imo).

- Don't put full blame on Coach. No one could've predicted UNC shooting that well. Move on.

- Thomas and Troy come back? We're pretty darn good next year.

How is 2 outright Big Ten titles and 3 sweet 16's the last 5 years "middle of the pack"? We also recruited well enough, and should our guys stay for another year, we can be preseason top 20 once again. Helluva season, great career #11, and great job coach turning, what we all thought was an NIT team in November, to the sweet 16.

Solid year.  We hit a buzzsaw last night who shot lights out.  Nothing you can do about that.  While it's not the reason for the loss, the phantom calls didn't help in building momentum either.  

But hey, we're a football school now, so it's all good!  :) :)

Missing 3's from the start was a recipe for disaster.  We never were able to heat up...credit to UNC's defense.  They are deeper and more athletic.  Furthermore, the start of the 2nd half just felt weird.  it started with the game plan of TW dribble-drive, create fouls, maybe pass out to the wing, maybe not.  That's when I think he went off for like 13 straight or whatever.  It looked like everyone was afraid to shoot.  The last 5-7 minutes felt like the Max and Yogi show.  Not in a bad or selfish way, it's just that they were the only two wanting to shoot.  Nicky Z couldn't have picked a worse game to go dormant.  Not having RoJo really hurt too IMO.

I think this was a successful season because I woke up this morning proud to be a Hoosier. I woke up proud of this team. I love this team. I didn't wake up disappointed or ready to point fingers for last nights loss. This team AND COACH gave it there all this year. What else could you ask for? This year was a turning point for the culture of IU basketball and for Tom Crean as a coach. JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER HOOSIERS!

Seriously guys, it sucks hard but just tip your hat. We quite honestly didn't play bad. You just can't beat a team shooting like that. IU just ran into that night. UNC will go back to not throwing one in the ocean now.

Fantastic season Hoosiers. It was a joy to watch this year. Just awesome all around.

Yea, 3 sweet 16's and 2 conference titles in 5 years. I will never understand how people think we are just going to go from the gutter to hanging banners. It's asinine. We would be nearly brain dead to run off a coach who just gave us these last 5 years after being a gutter of a program for 20.

It's not about lowered expectations. IU is now reestablished as one of the powerhouses in the big ten. We are making mini runs in the tourney. We just took out UK again. Looks like all the alcohol and weed infractions are behind us. Grades are great. Step away from the ledge guys. The banner is coming.

IU as a program is in a fantastic spot. Next year we are looking like UNC size wise.. forwards all day.

It's our fault we don't have better players? Not like, anyone involved with the team?

The whole issue is there shouldn't be teams who just have good players and we shouldn't. There is an expectation at Indiana just as there is at UNC, Duke, Kansas, and Kentucky. They still meet it; we put mothballs in the rafters to protect our banners.
