Thompson/Phinisee/Hunter/Forrester/Anderson is a very solid foundational class for Archie.(Counting Race with this class since he's redshirting and came early).  The three freshmen this year also look very promising. We will go out and get the big guns in the 2019 class. Maybe it's because I never expected us to get Garland, but imo the future is very bright for IU basketball. I haven't been this excited about the team in a long time.

IU might go 19-16 this year and we plan on nabbing 3 top 40 players for Archie's second recruiting class.

I don't know, those expectations might come from one of the largest fan bases, some of the best facilities, a school that's on national tv as much as anyone, etc., etc. Drew is at Vanderbilt, not exactly the same thing.

I also think Phinisee will open some eyes. He will fit right in with at IU. Just a steady Indiana kid that knows how to win.

Well done --Hoosier Nation! We did what we always do--discuss, analyze, gripe, moan, dream, and predict. In the end--some of us predicted wrong and some of us predicted right. But that's part of the fun and what this site is for. This one did not go our way. Maybe we should have known it when we got the Phinisee commit--maybe we should have known the hometown pull was just too strong to overcome as we got involved late in the game. But hey--at least we were in the conversation! That's a lot better than a lot of other good teams---Hi Purdue! As for me--I have already moved on. I want the players who believe in Archie's vision and who want to be at IU! Wish it would have been DG but --on to the next! Let's put the full court press on for Romeo. There's still time to try to get him thinking IU! We should not give up on Romeo just because we're down or even if we truly are behind in his recruitment--because as long as he hasn't committed--we still have a chance!

Haha nah man I don't think that about you, we're just on opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to the football team's offense this year. I agree with a lot more of your posts on here than I disagree with, honestly.

I get the feeling Romeo is only listing us because we are the in state school. Starting to think he may commit to vandy anytime now.

1)  Because he's 5'11"

2)  Because he's not a scoring/stats hound.  He is a distribution point guard

3)  He is in the top 15 point guards in this class.  Not sure why that is viewed as a detriment, but any kid ranked in the top 15 at his position is terrific.   

4)  Don't put too much stock in rankings.

I don't know or care. Vandy is of little concern to me. I care about Archie Miller having success at IU and building his program. If Drew thinks he can build his program with one and dones, best of luck to him. I don't think that needs to be a focus for Archie right now.

Well, time to concentrate on OUR team and players and then worry about 2019.

I'm definitely disappointed and not confident about Langford, but what really bugs me is that we whiffed on 5* recruits while even Illinois has one in the bag.  Damnit!

I think he is bigger than his listed size. He seems like he was the few times I have seen him.

And that one 5 star Illinois has in the bag is their only signee and led to them burning bridges with the best basketball HS in Chicago. I wouldn't trade our recruiting class for one low 5 star.

Man i was worried this was going to be a melt down but everyone seems to be taking it really well. I really dont think this is to big of deal i am more concerned with developing the players we have. Most time i get my hopes up about a recruit they end up disappointing me when they are here anyhow.
