I do not get having to go to a national board to get info from anonymous posters to feel its truth. No biggie. I like people posting what they're hearing or reading because things are always changing in recruiting and what I say isn't always as current as what someone else may know. Also, they may have a better source or closer to the situation. IUsafety, Bobman1 and Dalton26 3 Quote
Popular Post hoosierpap Posted April 11, 2016 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2016 Just a summary here: Four schools seem to be shaping up to have a shot with Langford. UL, IU, Duke, UK. UL was thought to be the "leader" (just in the best shape, not sure Langford is actually at that point) probably because of location. In case any don't know, New Albany is right across the Ohio river from Louisville. That whole area is thought to be UL country so maybe some assumptions were made. Mom and Dad did not like the prostitute thing and it had an impact; to the point where they cancelled an in-home with Pitino. UL is still in it, but they have that to overcome. IU is going to give it there all here. Crean has formed a pretty strong relationship with Romeo and his parents- but especially Romeo. There was some talk that he may not see Crean as a basketball fit, but likes him as a man. I don't know if that's true or not but it was out there early and multiple people in NA have said that. I am pretty certain that the "he'll never play for Crean" stuff is BS. It won't be easy, but IU is in it. Duke is just getting started here. It's no secret that Romeo likes Duke, and has, but it isn't as open and closed as some people are making it out to be. Could he end up at Duke? Sure. But Duke is going to have to win the recruitment. The idea that a kid liked a school growing up is worth some but there is a lot more that goes into a decision like this. PJ Dozier grew up an IU fan. IU recruited him. He ended up elsewhere. Believe Braxton Key (Blackwell) was the same. Duke may be the one to watch, but it isn't like he is about to commit. UK is just getting involved seriously. Cal watched him a few weeks ago along w everyone else at Bankers Life Arena. He is that level of recruit and the NBA success I would think would be very attractive. It wouldn't make him many friends at home, I can't imagine. I think UK has been in contact for awhile but it now starting to actively recruit him. Obviously, UK is always dangerous. Popular Post Stuhoo Posted April 11, 2016 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2016 It's early, but if we keep winning I like our chances. He seems to have a Duke or IU personality, and with a squared away family our geographic proximity will be a big advantage. Dalton26, GloryDays, ALASKA HOOSIER and 7 others 10 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I think Crean has a great relationship with Langford. Wasn't Romeo the one texting Crean after a big win? I don't think his recruitment is going to come down to who is working hardest right now. There's still plenty of time and things to workout before he commits somewhere. maxwell Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 My apologies. My post was not meant as a sarcastic dig toward Coach Crean at all. After MadAboutIndiana's reply, I can see how it was taken as such. I'm sorry as that was absolutely not my intent! ccgeneral and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Yeah, those working hardest lists are PR advertisements for the kids. They are going to name the biggest schools involved. Sounds like an uphill battle though. ccgeneral 1 Quote
