I heard it as ap2345 stated as a rumor that he was told privately. Which to me sounds like something that is unethical but maybe not against NCAA rules? I don't think it's fair to just act like Bryce is dirty because his brother is. I think everyone should be judged for their actions. But assuming this is true I can't help but be feel like this is something his brother would do. A lot of the things I've heard his brother does are often just petty and unethical and not so much NCAA violations. Mind you I'm not saying his brother hasn't ever committed any. I don't know frankly. But I think there is probably something to his reputation he has gotten. Which is he plays in a gray area.

Baylor was getting 5 stars in basketball for a while. It screams shady! Then Football gets busted and recruiting drops off. This is my memory of things.

 

Now Vanderbilt is getting 5 stars with virtually nothing to offer over most other schools.

 

I can see Garland, kind of, but Shittu doesn't make any sense at all.

I feel like when Garland says UCLA was his second choice I feel like Drew is telling him to say that. I feel like that's a tactic Scott Drew would take. What better way to undermine IU when you know there is another guy they are both recruiting.

Bryce Drew is definitely dirty. You don't land two top 10 players at a school like Vandy without venturing into murky waters. The fact they're in the running for a third top 10 player in the midst of a 6-12 season says a lot.

Bryce Drew is definitely dirty. You don't land two top 10 players at a school like Vandy without venturing into murky waters. The fact they're in the running for a third top 10 player in the midst of a 6-12 season says a lot. 

Yeah and some still say he is a stand up guy. Isnt he also trying to get the 5 star who decommitted from auburn after the fbi thing? He myst be desperate because it appears his coaching skills are lacking.

He knew what his team was going to be heading into this year. IMO that is why he sped up the process this way. Before anyone jumps up saying how good of a dude he is, not all people that cheat are bad. Every one of us sitting in our glass houses have done something unethical. That said I don’t see him getting away with this class forever. Too obvious imo.

Its almost a bit arrogant given the current enviroment with the fbi sting. Talk about putting a red flag on your back right after the fbi busts programs who recruited guys you have signed or are actively pursuing.

Seems like a bad time to start playing dirty to get recruits. They let the big boys off but vandy is the type of program they would nail. I suspect they could be on probation within three years

Absolutely. Lately I have seen extreme posts talking about him as a person. Greedy? Probably, but whose to say in that environment with that much money on the line we wouldn’t do the same individually. I hope IU doesn’t have to go there. But I am not about to throw stones at glass houses. I don’t think Romeo goes that route, but who knows what is available to them.

I think everybody needs to hit the brakes here -- just my opinion. It seems to me that anything about Bryce Drew playing dirty is pure conjecture. Just because Vandy isn't playing well and had a great recruiting class coming in doesn't necessarily mean there's been malfeasance going on. Remember in 2010-11? We were 12-20 and 3-15 in the B1G. Yet we landed Cody. And the next season, we won 27 games (11 in the conference) and went to the Sweet 16. So Garland wanted to stay close to home, because he's probably thinking he will be a one-and-doner, and wants his family to be able to see him play. What's wrong with that? And he forms a friendship with Shittu and gets him to go to Nashville, too. And they know Romeo, who makes Vandy one of three finalists. Why does that have to mean Drew is dirty? Alabama, which is not a traditional basketball power, had the No. 4 class this past season. Does that automatically make Avery Johnson dirty? Alabama doesn't have any more of a basketball pedigree than Vandy. Just because a school is getting player(s) we want doesn't mean it had to resort to dirty tricks to get them. Just chill.
