(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

[Class of '66 Old Fart]

In a game that was over in the first minute, Fort Wayne North destroyed, crushed, annihilated Logansport 91-45.  This is a very good FWN team and I won't at all be surprised to see them playing for a state championship.  They move the ball around with nice crisp passes, they play good defense, run the floor, rebound, shoot and it's more than just the Keion Brooks show.  On my unofficial scorecard I had Brooks with 19 pts. on 7-11 from the field; 0-1 on 3's and 5-6 FT's.  He also had 10 reb., 4 assists, 1 blk, and 1 TO.   Lucas Kroft, also just a junior, added 16 pts. and 6 reb.  Both Brooks and Kroft left the game midway through the 4th Q.  I have to admit, I was impressed with Austin Boucher.  Handled the ball very well and was the primarya initiator of the offense.  He scored 15 pts. and left the game with 2 min. left in the 3rd.

It was the first time I'd seen Brooks in person and boy is he skinny.  He'll definitely need to add weight and muscle to play D1 ball.  

Final comment.  Lot of noise this past week about the relationship between the Brooks family and the FWN head coach and was it putting Brooks in a bad light.  After the game, Brooks stayed outside the locker room and signed autographs for a bunch of little kids which I thought was a tremendous gesture on his part especially for a road game.

Keion Brooks Jr. @KeionB_12 puts an explanation point on the weekend with another double-double. KBJ finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists in North Side's 91-45 win over Logansport.

Yep on Bowman’s site it’s showing a game tonight as well.

One thing that’s weird is Bowman got hit with huge sanctions and postseason bans for two years for playing kids that don’t go to school. Some teams haven’t played against them due to this. Don’t know if that’s the case?

The calendar I have has Feb. 6, as his next game and I tried to put my calendar together from individual school websites although that doesn't necessarily mean its correct as there were calendar changes due to weather earlier this season.

The idea of playing with Indiana on his chest is very exciting to him. Yeah... I think we’re in a good spot. Also, listed us then MSU in his list of schools. I don’t normally consider this stuff much, but interesting that his own stated list closely resembles the order of the predicted schools and their chances.
