I wouldn’t bank much on it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Yes high school season does effect the rankings so that is false. Now does AAU impact them the most yes but to say high school is a non factor is just wrong. Quote
mdn82 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 To add to this. I asked around today and nobody I have talked to in this area has heard he is for sure leaving for college. He is open. He has relationships with IU and MSU. He does not have one with UK or KU currently. Of course that can change, but that is all anyone I know said. As for leaving for prep school nobody here has heard that. Reclassifying would be difficult if he had ambitions to any of the schools listed if he wants immediate PT guaranteed. Edit: just because I didn’t hear what Wayne heard doesn’t mean what I heard or he heard is not legit. I know high school and AAU coaches in this area. Just different people than Wayne is talking to. Or they heard something before the people I am talking to did. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

Since I was the one that got all this started I will say that I never said I didn't like him just that I had questions. I Wil say if we could get him to reclassify I think that could only help with Romeo because he is more talented than some of the guys on scholarship currently and it would help with our front court next year which has question marks. lillurk and Iugradman 2 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 With junior standout Keion Brooks picking up two early fouls, Austin Boucher filled the offensive void with a game-high 25 points as visiting North Side held off a late Wayne surge, 70-64, on Friday to stay perfect in SAC play. Brooks did add 23 points for North Side despite sitting for several first-half minutes, going 7 of 10 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter. HoosierAloha and IUsafety 2 Quote

mdn82 Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 I know he is putting up ok points, but certainly doesn’t seem to be a scorer for a low 5* or high 4*. He doesn’t take a lot of shots and most scorers in high school are putting up 15-20 shots per game in high school easily. I would think with his ranking he would have another elite skill. I personally haven’t seen it in the times I have watched him. Don’t get me wrong I think he could be solid. Just don’t think he is a program changer.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Super duper athletic. I think Troy Williams is a good comparison. I think I'd personally take Watford over Brooks if I had a pick of one or the other but clearly would be thrilled with either. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

Those type of players can be the difference between what IU has been in recent years and a UNC (on court only), Arizona (on court only) and MSU (on court only). Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appI definitely don’t disagree with that. But most schools that have that alpha, you know who that alpha is nightly if that makes sense. With him he defers a lot. Austin Boucher should not be stealing his opportunities. Troy Williams athletically was brought up also as a comparison as an elite ability. Troy was ranked in the 30s and 40s as a four star. I am just saying this kid could be a good edition, but not an immediate impact savior. I agree. I brought up the Troy comparison and I think it's a very close comparison on what to expect skill wise and athleticism wise. I kind of like the fact we will defer if he is willing to get dirty doing everything else. Every team needs a good slasher. He can grow the 3 point shot and be a nice piece.
