See no benefit to him being on the floor at this time. Dating back to the Notre Dame game. He is 6-29 from 3pt and 7-31 overall. Other than the defense staying with him to respect his jumper. Really doesn't help IU. Other negative from today is Max, kid looked so lost out there. Overall I'm impressed with our progress in playing team defense.

After our win the other night against Wisky I still wasn't overly impressed but after seeing the MD vs Wisky game yesterday, I'm starting to feel better about us. We are most definitely a better "team" without JBJ. On both ends of the floor! Really hate to single one kid out and he is an unbelievable talent offensively. Hopefully he can understand defensive positioning and etc while sitting out.

The biggest part of our improvement on the defensive end is TB. Defending that P-N-R significantly better. Also you can see they are communicating more on that end. Love seeing our effort right now.

Totally disagree on Z. He is slumping big time, there is no denying that. He is a proven shooter who will find his way out of this slump. We will need him so you have to let him play through it.

I agree, I think he will be very important in the near future. Hope he works it out because he can be a sparkplug for them on slow days. Announcers today said his release looked funny on more than one occasion. I think it's a head thing.

Seth Davis just said we have Final Four potential

. Whoa Nellie!
I heard him say that too but he also said we could fall easily from where we are. I'd say IF the Hoosiers decide to play this brand of ball on a consistent basis all season and BiG tourney then maybe we are Final Four material.

I think the biggest issue is having so many selfish type players who are lazy on defense on the floor at once. With JBJ out, defense is better and players like Colin and OG get more of a shot, which they are team oriented players. While Troy, Yogi, and JBJ are very good players, their games all together create a selfish offense with lazy defense.

Next year, I think JBJ will fit in better. May sound weird, but just how I feel.

Truth is, if JBJ ever hopes to play in the NBA he will have to learn to play some defense.

To be a NBA 2 guard he needs at least 2/3 of ....better D, more lateral quickness and/or more height. Wish him the best but do not see him in the league. Reminds me too much of Bracey Wright.

JJ Reddick defies your analysis.

I do not think so.
Do you think Blackmon is headed towards the league just as he was prior to being hurt?
He does not get the separation from defenders the way JJ can.

PS...hope I am wrong, of course, and he has a great NBA career.

I certainly do not see JBJ as an early entry. But, much depends on his recovery and longevity after these knee procedures. Given the right circumstances and team makeup, a shooter of his capability can make a niche for themself.

The ironic part is...better D is the one of those three things he has the best chance of attaining!
