I'm not so sure. Underwood gets them to play hard, and they will have a couple of quite good guards. 
Won't break the top ten in conference, but maybe will stay afloat.
 

Yep a little above Rutgers in that Minnesota area. He has to hope he can get a grad transfer big or the fan base will be getting antsy in year 2.

Probably good for Illinois to revamp the roster for the long haul, but Underwood is gonna try to do it with only one current recruit with a real pulse.

I’m happy about this. If and when they start locking down Chicago recruiting Illinois will be a beast. Not sure Underwood will be the guy to do it. He’s certainly willing to get shady as Oklahoma State recruiting indicates.

Add in Alstork graduating and they are left with what...Frazier, Aaron Jordan and Kipper Nichols  + Dosunmu coming in?  Not a whole lot of size left on that roster.

A 6'9" unranked kid who was the fourth leading scorer on a good high school team. 

Alrighty then.

Their other f/c recruit is not very well thought of either. Illinois is filling their roster with project (at best) bigs.
