Totally off the wall thought, but if for some hard-to-imagine circumstance Bill Self was interested in getting back into the B1G, would/should we hire him?

I think he's had some academic issues in the past if I'm not mistaken? I know a lot of people wouldn't be on board with that.

The University can't appease everyone in the fan base unless they miraculously convince Brad a Stevens to take the job. If fans are upset with Bill Self, they can take a hike.

Either way, it's never happening. Kansas is a stable blueblood, offering everything, if not more than what we offer.

I feel like academics would be a pretty legit reason for people to be unsettled, no? Even people that want Crean gone praise he and his staff for the academic performance of the team.

I just think now is the time for change. Not middle of season or end of season. Today we should be getting rid of the dead weight and move on. Idc who is even the coach we already know the players are out for themselves not the staff. If the players were playing for the team they would learn to play d and stop someone but when u let guys take two dribbled past you and still get to play there's no consequences for u. So u continue to play that way.

Going to keep saying it and you people better let me have this lol. Brad Stevens will be the head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers starting next year! He will will work the coaching box for close to 30 years and have the Hoosiers competing for a conference championship every season giving us a chance to make a run at any given time. Consistency! Consistency! Consistency!

I'm not sure if KU had problems with academics but they've had several players with "extra benefits" recently.  I don't want that in our program.  I understand the coach can't catch everything but he sets the tone for the program.  No thanks.

I don't know? Apparently you do. So tell me who your sources are? Are you a close personal friend of Brad? I would say he is as good an option as anyone. Maybe I am very naive.

Everyone in the college bball world knows Brad Stevens is the right coach for IU. It has the Jim Harbaugh to UM feel (minus the very big Celtics still want him).
If we're prepared to offer him $5 million, at least make the offer. He'd be dumb not to listen bc at the very least Boston would have to counter our offer and he'd get a raise.
I say pull a UM/Harbaugh move - send the big wigs to Boston, and don't leave until you sign him.

Of course they are but let's not sit here and crucify the guy over past mistakes. Especially mistakes that haven't resulted in vacated accomplishments. He seems to be in good standing with the NCAA for over a decade now. We aren't fresh off of a post Sampson debacle anymore. If we have a chance to take guys like Bill Self and we pass, then we'd deserve a lifetime of mediocrity. Can't think of one coach that's been squeaky clean. Even Coach K has dirt.

And yes I agree that this will cause some to be uneasy, but let's be honest; no matter who we bring in, someone will find a reason to bitch.

Coming from someone who so staunchly supported a coach who's players have had numerous run ins with the law, and until just recently pulled support. I would have guessed you'd have been able to discern who was truly at fault for the issues Self has had in the past. You know... Not being directly implicated in academic fraud considering that it was a blanket violation bestowed on the program Bc of the football teams indiscretions. The basketball team was punished by reducing one scholly Bc some booster paid JR. Giddens and some no name $5000 in impermissible benefits. How can you say in one instance that Tom Crean isn't at fault for his players making bad decisions, yet Bill Self is some pariah and at fault for the indiscretions of programs and boosters he had no direct link to? Bill Self would be a phenomenal hire.

I have supported Crean huh? Just because I don't ***** and moan like some of you constantly about the same things doesn't mean I support him. You might want to your facts straight before you come at me with that weak ****.
