BGleas Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Sounds familiar. They have actually outscored IU in the second half. It's now a 10 point game. Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I am not going to be convinced that we shouldn't beat an undersized D2 team by more. Not going to overreact though. southsidehoosier 1 Quote

Their starting lineup was bigger than ours, but other than that I agree with you 100%. Least we aren't Iowa or St Johns that both got beat by D2 schools Class of '66 Old Fart and IUsafety 2 Quote

rebelhoosier848891 Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Sounds like Bryant did not play much 2nd half---we are a different team without him. For those of us in Southern Indiana I can tell you Bellarmine has a great BBall reputation. But I am disappointed we did not handle them better than we did. LIHoosier Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Did Blackmon ever score? He had a breakaway dunk moments after he turned the ball over and Troy made a nice recovery block. Kepner, coonhounds, Bobman1 and 1 other 4 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Final stats will be interesting .....good to get another W with multiple lineups. JaybobHoosier 1 Quote

Walking Boot of Doom Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Fair to say Crean let the bench players get more time late in the first and the entire second half? That seems like a more plausible explanation for the lackluster final 25 minutes. Did we see lots of weird lineups after murdering Bellarmine in the first 15? JaybobHoosier 1 Quote

Uspshoosier Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I remember a Syracuse team in 2009-2010 season that lost to a divison 2 team Le moune in an exhibition game at home 72-69. They ended up 4th in the AP polls and fininished 30-5 (#1 seed that lost to butler in sweet 16). It could of been worst we could of lost although if the season ends up like syracuses I would take a loss in an exhibition game if we ended up with a season close to that minus a loss in the sweet 16 Quote

Other than that it was normal So we played the first half (at least the first 15 minutes) as we are going to play this year (with some big bodies down low).... and then we played the rest of the game like last years team....(Small and letting leads slip away). I am fairly certain those minutes won't be split like that come Friday or after so i am very happy with the way we played this game... as mentioned no injuries (and some extra rest for those possibly nursing injuries) is a very good thing! TB only played 16 minutes (as did Max). I agree the minutes won't be split like that, I think it was both line-up experimentation (which is exactly what you want to see in these games) and TB was in the boot Monday morning, so I doubt they wanted to overwork him and risk injury/reinjury.
