ThompsonHoosier Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Almost 2000 retweets! With all the IU alumni working for ESPN (Dakich, Sage Steel, etc.) advocating for college gameday; the idea is definitely getting some traction! BtownBanner6, ALASKA HOOSIER, Napleshoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
Alford Bailey Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 If it was later in the season and we were still undefeated AND there wasn't another big matchup we may have a chance. Quote

Hoosier116 Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Ah. Either way this fun. Can't wait for wake on Saturday. Chance to play a power 5 school and see how we stack up. This team isn't good yet but they have "something" Naturalhoosier and HoosierReb01 2 Quote

8bucks Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Kevin Wilson the wet blanket @MikeMillerHT: Wilson says IU doesn't win enough to fill up its stadium (to attract GameDay) and the game isn't a primetime TV assignment. Naturalhoosier, Bobman1 and Alford Bailey 3 Quote

Miller'sTheMan Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Pretty sure if college gameday came we'd fill up the stadium regardless of how many OSU fans are there. BtownBanner6 and Bobman1 2 Quote

HoosierReb01 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I'm guessing CKW wants his team focused on winning, let the fans do the GameDay bit. ThompsonHoosier, Naturalhoosier, FortWayneHoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
Miller'sTheMan Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Lee Fitting will be on the Dakich show tomorrow at 2:30, should be interesting to hear what he has to say. Dakich also said Fitting told him that College GameDay to Bloomington isn't a joke at all. ThompsonHoosier, Bobman1, HoosierAloha and 3 others 6 Quote
RBB89 Posted September 24, 2015 Author Posted September 24, 2015 Ohio state will fill up the rest. Kevin, you're such a disease.Hes screwed no matter what he says. If he pumps up the hype train, then OMG HE ISNT FOCUSED ON WINNING FIRE HIM. He's being a good coach. The fans can still have fun though. RBB89 Posted September 24, 2015 Author Posted September 24, 2015 Also the "prime time tv assignment" thing is actually BS. The Gameday game started at 3:30 or earlier 6 times last year. Naturalhoosier 1 Quote
Bobman1 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Kevin just has to say what any other coach would too. Can't look at the mountain ahead or you'll trip on the rock right in front of you. Quote

MartintheMopMan Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 We're all really in to the idea of having people watch Ohio State destroy us on national TV. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
ThompsonHoosier Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 There is real consideration about bringing College Gameday to Bloomington but I think there are some obvious risks/rewards that we need to think about. If we play competitively and keep the game somewhat close (or win?), it brings respect and some obvious national attention to the program. It would get the fanbase fired up and some recruits might take notice. The risk? we get blown out of the water and everyone laughs at us for even thinking we could compete, which also doesn't bode well for recruiting. Quote
BabyJandJDaddy Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Wilson has played Ohio State 4 times while at IU. 3 of those 4 games have been close and competitive. southsidehoosier, ALASKA HOOSIER, Bobman1 and 1 other 4 Quote

I don't think a blowout loss to #1 will do a whole lot to Wilson's recruiting momentum. Rewards greatly outweigh the risks, in my opinion. Stuhoo, ALASKA HOOSIER, Naturalhoosier and 4 others 7 Quote

Yeah you're right about being the laughingstock of the Big Ten for years but I think most people believe the tides are turning under Wilson and the program is heading in the right direction. I think if it's a complete blowout (ala Wisconsin hanging 83 points on us in 2010), all the improvement talk goes out the window and reminds everyone of just how bad the program is. But the reward is also equally as high. I think either way, it's a high risk/high reward scenario. Quote
