Tom Crean:

"We've gotta get our kids to understand that they are playing for Indiana, and not at Indiana".

I know, I know, he should've been the one to already have taught them that, but it's still a very succinct way of getting to the crux of the problem with today's college athletes.

I asked around to make sure and people around me said they heard two as well. Maybe just where we were sitting.

I was just referring the the media video. Not sure what he might've said to the audience.

I know it's over and hid my reply, but I am a little curious how many lawyers are here besides Stu and I?

I am not a lawyer.  However, I worked for what was the #1 Health law program in the country for some time, I worked for a time on a law library web site that received a Top 10 ranking (#7 or #8 nationally) when I worked on it by the Green Bag Journal, a national law journal some of the lawyers here might be familiar with, and might also respect, I have assisted over 10,000 law students, J.D.s, L.L.M.s, S.J.D.s, and even M.J.s in legal research projects in my career at the Corboy Law Center, and have routinely handed practicing attorneys their (a)sses in court, mainly small landlord/tenant issues when a tenant tries to bilk me out of rent, and other small matters most attorneys expect to fly through without a challenge and still get paid the same amount no matter the end result for their clients.

I prefer to face a defendant in court cases when he is represented by an attorney, because that defendant is already playing behind the eight ball 1) by not knowing the law he is taking to court enough to even defend himself, 2) by usually not even bothering to learn that law, 3) by trusting a stranger (lawyer) to defend him, and 4) by paying money for that 'service.'

When I moved on from my career at the Loyola Chicago School of Law, several nationally prominent attorneys, some noted national experts in various areas of the law, some authors of legal textbooks, some attorneys who plead before the Supreme Court, and some law school deans approached me and offered to put their names on my resume if I ever want their help as a reference to the quality of work I am able to perform assisting attorneys in preparation for trial and also in scholarly legal work.  I did not seek them out for that.  They contacted me in thanks for work I have done for them in the past with confidence that they would be doing their friends in some of the most powerful law firms in the world a favor by recommending me if I ever want to work full time for a law firm.

I'm not an attorney, but I am proud of my experience and my ability to navigate a law library and the courts.  I'm good at it.

Did I just hear Crean say we weren't going to be using a three guard lineup ????  Was I just dreaming????

He said lineups like that would be more situational, not that we won't do that.  Then again he also said if you can't defend your position you won't play as much, which means we'll be using lineups with like 2 players on the floor tops.

this is the best i ever seen coach talk about things, he is really taking responsibility, and at the same time he is really hammering the leadership

That's the beauty of "$#!t rolls downhill". McRobbie is putting the pressure on Glass who turned the heat up (or "on") on Crean and he's going after his team. It's about time, and I'm glad to see it, even if it was precipitated by another boneheaded move by someone who should know better.
