(2016/17) PG Markus Howard to Marquette

Recommended Posts

Malik Williams may turn into a good BIG as well

. He's blowing up this summer. Can't remember which scout said it but he said that he reminds him of Willie Cauley Stein at the same point in time. I work with a guy who's son plays with Malik and supposedly IU is in the drivers seat by a mile.

I hope this is true and stays true

Arizona St.- 1/1-1/3

Indiana-2/20-2/21

Marquette-2/26-2/28

Central Arkansas-3/2-3/4

Baylor-3/4-3/6

Interesting to see Arizona not getting an official. They did get an unofficial so maybe they aren't out of it, but Howard did unofficially visit IU/ASU/Baylor so it isn't like he isn't using his officials on schools he has visited.

Obviously Indiana is a murky place to commit to with the coaching instability, and that message is being pumped through in other recruitments so can't imagine it wouldn't here. Really sounds like from that article he is lining up for a reclass to '16 as he will be graduated. If IU were to bring in Howard to that class, the entire dynamic of next years team changes as the loss of talent at PG is lessened to some degree.

I'll see what else I can get on this but this is potentially big news.

If there's a chance he intends to re-classify to 2016 is this who CTC's holding the scholly for?

I love it when a good recruiting thread catches on. Good stuff that we haven't heard enough of lately!

got to like are chances here if you look at it closer. He decommitted from herb sendek and Arizona st back in March. Odds usually say they won't recommit ( I know Blackmon), Central Arkansas is probably a weekend to hang out with his brother on the universities dime. He will be on his visit at iu during a rivalry game, regardless of if we win the atmosphere will be insane. The Baylor and Marquette visit will come after that experience and I'm not sure they would compare. I see this as a 2 horse race between Arizona state and us. Hopefully his dad is in his ear to follow in his dad's footsteps and attend IU. Plus the reclassifying talk makes sense for him to come in a fill a big need for iu next year

good breakdown.

If we can just stay in the state of IN for '17 we will get a solid class if we get the top kids. Guess u could say this on just about any year really lol

UPDATE

On possibly reclassifying for the 2016 class, which would start his college eligibility next school year:

"On reclassifying, it's still up in the air. I'm taking my classes just in case I do."

Are you ready for college now?

"Me personally, I feel I'm ready for it. It depends on how this season goes and how everything else turns out."

Visits still slated for Howard:

"I'm taking visits to Indiana, Marquette, UCA (Central Arkansas) and Baylor. It really depends on what they have to offer."

On gaining 15 pounds of muscle packed onto his 5-foot-11 frame since last season (he now weighs 185 pounds):

"With a program like that, it's something you have to do. I feel a lot stronger out there."

Not much in there outside of that.
