Devin Davis cited for marijuana possession

Recommended Posts

Devin gets suspended and not Hanner? I would bet Hanner didn't even get drug tested as you can buy these kits in stores now. Crean knows the leash is shorter with Hanner so he won't be tested for another month or so. Indiana is approaching Syracuse results off the court but not even close on the court. Sacrificing reputation for the W many can and do justify, but doing it with the product Crean regularly produces is just another head scratcher in a long list. You just have to wonder when the university president will start coming down on Glass for these repeated citations and embarrassments. My prediction both would leave together still stands; un fortunately it may be a year later than what it should have been.

Theyre both gone now. Dismissed.

Edit...McRobbie must have finally spoken.

So much for living up to potential. We waited all these years for Hanner to develop and it all ends up in a puff of smoke.

I guess you could say he had a...high...ceiling?

Ok I'm done. It really is too bad about Hanner. A lot of people had high hopes for him (no pun intended).

we don't much see the best years of players at IU these days. They either sit the bench for a few years and then transfer or go pro early. Not too many watfords/Hulls/Yogis that contribute every year and get better every year for 4 years.

Actions have consequences.  The message has now been sent to the team loud and clear as two of the most popular players on the team have been dismissed.  I certainly hope the others learn from this---and stay on the straight and narrow! Good luck to DD in the future---I hope you learn from this and are successful from this point forward.

I'm saying your obtuse. This all could have been avoided with more stern punishments with past digressions. Never wanted them gone. Crean put this on himself. Hopefully after all this the kids finally get it.

You're*

Look, you keep taking derogatory shots at me. Cool it.

And you're being "obtuse" if you think stern punishment could have changed all of this. Maybe it would have helped, but you don't know that this wouldn't have still happened. Some kids just don't get it.

I feel like people forget that Hanner got ARRESTED for DUI. He may have gotten a "light" punishment basketball-wise, but the dude got arrested. That punishment should have been more than enough to set him on the right path. But like Mark Adams said, he just seemed to squander all of his opportunities.

yup...

I feel like with the resources of today...smart phones, social media, wifi...etc etc...the excuses for bad behavior or poor decision making should be reduced...especially as a college student that has worked hard to earn an athletic scholarship...

but...

if anything, things are getting worse...

Name calling isn't gonna be tolerated, so you can stop that. I agree with your sentiment though, hopefully the kids learn, and it was the right move by Crean.
