OFFICIAL: Ferrell returns for Senior Season

Recommended Posts

yogi was on the team with vonleh that missed all post season tourneys. That's a pretty bad team, and I think that was a year that yogi scored quite a few of his points.

Nowhere near as bad as the teams VJ3 and Pritch were on that were mentioned, or any of the PSU teams I mentioned. It's all relative.

Wasn't as bad, but no one is calling VJ3 an all-time great.

Yogi hit 1/2 of the teams 3's last year on a team that didn't make anything because no one else could shoot

You were talking about padding stats on bad teams. How can you argue Yogi did anything different during that season. It is very relative.

What are you talking about? All I was saying is that the Yogi/Vonleh team was better than the others. 17-15 or whatever we were is bad relative to expectations, but not bad compared to the teams VJ3 was on at first. A team above .500 is better than a 4-win team. Is it not? And then you just repeated exactly what I said...

Right...my point is that Yogi hasn't been a team that was so terrible that his stats would be considered overly-inflated like a freshman Pritchard. He has had teams with deficiencies, but at the same time he was probably the best player on the team, so shouldn't he be expected to put up big numbers?

It just seems like you're supporting both points. He inflated his stats because his teams were bad, but they weren't as bad as verdell's so he gets a bump.

Sure he does, that's why he is regarded higher than VJ3, but an all-time great is a pretty big deal and should be reserved for accomplishments on an individual and team level.

He's a Burger Boy, he was the best player on the team for the last 2 years, so his stats aren't inflated, he's just that good. I should've made my point that simple to begin with, but I like to ramble. When it's said and done, his individual accomplishments should be good enough for him to be in the conversation. Hopefully he gets a team accomplishment that makes this debate moot.

I'm not comparing yogi to TP or VJ3. I'm just simply saying his numbers are inflated because he was on a bad team, and he carried the scoring load. He has a chance to redeem himself as an all time Hoosier. That is up to him. I don't care that his bad year wasn't as bad as vj3's. Vj3 didn't have a lottery pick backing him up.
