Since Kenpom started his site no team has won a national title without a top 25 defensive efficiency. If I remember correctly most of those teams were actually top 10 defenses.

We all know Crean teams can score, can we defend? That's what I will be paying attention to next season. Preseaskn ranking mean little to me. They look nice and are good for recruiting, that's about it. IU has a tremendous opportunity to jump I to the top 8 if they can win Maui. Still got to play defense though.
