Southern Indiana Is Bearable Again

Stole this from a Kentucky board regarding officiating in the NCAAs, I imagine it is rough living down there with people who think like this:

IMO, the fair weather UK fans here in Indiana that just came along since Cal was hired are much much worse than the long timers in Kentucky.

Yeah a lot of the old timer Ky fans will tell you in private that they cant stand squidward but still cheer for the team.

The culture he's brought in is hard for them to take and believe me their standards have never been that high.

Its not necessarily the coach your a fan of but who you put up with and accept being a lifelong fan.

The worst UK fans are people who live in Indiana but cheer for UK. As much as I hate UK, I can understand people who grew up there cheering for them. However, I just don't get being a UK fan if you grew up here. When my wife moved up here from Louisiana she kept asking me why there were so many UK fans here since we live in Indiana. That loss on Saturday night was a life saver.

If UK would've gone undefeated I'd have probably punched a few of their fans by now.  pUKe fans in general are unbearable and obnoxious, but you're right the ones in Indiana are the absolute worst.

People were expecting more out of VCU? Smart had one tourney run and a lot of early exits. Then they lost their best player

People look at VCU like people in Indy look at Butler. They had the one run (I know butler is actually good, but bear with me) and now it's expected to go deep every year. Well prior to Shaka leaving.

When we were number you would see tons of people with iu gear now it's all Wisky fans

true. The IU fanbase was ever present the #1 year. Lol. I still see a lot around our high school and other sporting events. A lot of Purdue and ND fans in Fort Wayne though. See some random OSU and UM fans.

One of my kid patients today said he wanted to grow up and play for Kentucky and that is his favorite team. So..............naturally, I stabbed him in the gums with my explorer.

Kentucky isn't a state, therefore it's fans aren't people, therefore it isn't a crime.

My whole family and I are from Kentucky, and they're all Wildcats fans. Their bragging and nonsense has been unbearable this year. I was truly dreading the prospect of a 40-0 season. So 38-1 has been such a sweet gift. It's like forever the ultimate comeback to all the crap they say about IU and Tom Crean.

Thank you for seeing the light and not falling into the dark side!

Living about an hour and a half north of Louisville, there are too many UK fans around. All season hearing about how the '76 Hoosiers won't be the last undefeated team anymore. Luckily I get to do the local sports news for our area in which I was able to say "Congratulations the Kentucky Wildcats for setting an NCAA record for wins with a record of 38 and ONE. (I put plenty of emphasis on the "one", only to see the UK fans in the room flipping me the bird behind the camera haha).

I completely agree. I have been puzzled by this for years. I have family (by marriage) who are life long UK fans with no connection to Kentucky. It makes me want to vomit.
