IU Hoosier41

Tom Crean Update from Fred Glass

It's the administration. They don't want IUBB to have the power it did under Knight or be the face of the university. This is the same mentality that led to IU looking to bring in Brad Brownell in if Crean said no amidst the state of the program.

That's ridiculous

its a ridiculous position for the administration to hold, but it's one to which they appear to be clinging. Reeks of insecurity on the part of some university leaders.

It's like it is a foreign concept to them that you can be a great school athletically and academically!

Head coaches only get 2 free passes in mind. Their first and second season. By their third season they have 3 classes of kids they recruited, the last two being kids they really want.
Every head coach gets a pass in their first two years in my book regardless of sport.

First two years makes sense. So many want to throw away his third year because the leap in results didn't occur until the next year

So who are those that make up the administration?
