Didn't hear this at all at Louisville game

not sure what to say, not making it up. I bought my tickets through the school and was in an all IU section and the boos and tells for Stevens and you suck Crean was horrendous in the second half. Where did you sit?

Also in an IU section lower bowl. No boos. Standard cheers when announced.

my feelings on Crean haven't changed in 2 years, sadly. I root for the team though. I can be fooled into believing we are better than we are by reading hype from the "sunshine pumpers" then my eyes remind me of the level of team we actually are. Which BTW, is a decent team that can be dangerous. We are a helter skelter Schizophrenic team this year. Leads to ups and downs.

Just like the team I'm bipolar.

I hate it its great!

I am an IU grad B.S. '64--and have been watching IU since the early '50s (including the four NCAA championships since '53). Here's the thing I don't understand?  I read all of this negativity toward Coach Crean on and on every day--I get it that people want to win every game, but HE IS OUR COACH (whether you like it or not)!  Now just suppose he does leave after this season and that causes some of the good players to also leave (Blackmon, Yogi, Johnson, etc). Who does the administration hire?  Will he be able to recruit, win, and satisfy this crazy fan base (almost as rabid and demanding as KY fan base)?  Who knows?  To me, that puts IU right back where we were when they fired Sampson several years ago.  Does it take 5 years to recover or longer? Personally, at my age, I don't want to wait another 5 years to get "back"--I got real tired of those 6-10 win seasons.  So I have to be a  "half-full" type of fan--that's how I've been in my career, as well.  This team is fun to watch, and are still in a position to make the NCAA tournament.  I will support and watch every game and hope we win them all--but we won't.  I take it hard when we lose, but all the whining and complaining won't help one bit or change anything.  Life isn't fair or perfect, neither is IU basketball, or Tom Crean.

Is Tom crean your favorate coach at Indiana? Or Lou Watson?

I'm pretty sure I'm not alone here. I think Crean is a great guy and a decent coach. I am no basketball Xs and Os genius by any means, but I have issues with in game coaching; substitutions, timeouts, inbounds plays (offense and defense), etc. That being said, I think he has done a pretty good job if not great job in other areas. In recruiting he has pulled a burger boy on a consistent basis and we lose to one of two things; closer to home & "bluer blood schools" like UK, KU, Duke, UNC.

I do not understand calling for a coaches head midseason. It does nothing but hurt the program. It undermines recruiting, divides a fanbase, and demoralizes the team.

I came into this season thinking we would be decent and surprise some people. So far I'd say I have been right on the money. These expectations were based upon a healthy squad. Now we've lost our only (somewhat) real big in Hanner and managed to hang on. I expect to get him back shortly and continue to see improvement as the season progresses. Ultimately, I expect to see a run into the second round or sweet sixteen, but wouldn't be shocked to see a first round or elite 8 exit either.

I don't know and unless you have first hand knowledge, no one else on here knows what went down with Luke Fischer, but regardless, my opinion is that he was weak minded. If there were the issues rumored, he should have gone to coach and had changes made. He left. No excuses.

Because of that exit and the early (or not) departure of Vonleh, I would consider this season as living up to expectations.

Now, if we don't bring in a legit big after having a year and a half to prepare, we are having a completely different conversation.

Here's to hoping for a good run this year, and fingers crossed during the next month. I will be here cheering on my Hoosiers and scouring the web for recruit news until I here Bryant or Maker have signed. (FYI, the Maker news will be very hot shortly.)

IIRC part of the rumor was that Luke did go to Crean asking for a different roommate, and Crean refused.  I heard that somewhere, I can't remember where though.

I believe someone on the board who had some inside connections posted the information.

Well stated XLevel.  I appreciate you including the the vision of this team going as far as the elite eight. CTC has consistently been building while the dark side has continued to tear down despite the 6-4 record with the favorable part the schedule still to come.  The noise from "Fire Tom Crean" crowd is real; however the substance to those claims is dwindling.  In my opinion it is awesome to think that the young men on our team take responsibility for their thought process eliminating the significance of the spineless blaming casts upon them and their coach.

I don't think to many people want him gone mid season. I'm not his biggest supporter by any means and I don't want him gone mid season. I believe he deserves this season at least and realistically he'll probably get next year also if only because of the size of his buyout and I'm cool with that.

As for the fans undermining his recruiting and demoralizing the team? What's that comment you made about Luke Fischer? Weak minded? Suck it up cupcakes(s)! That's what comes with coaching and playing for a high profile program? Is Indiana State on national tv regularly? Evansville? IUPUI? They shouldn't be so weak minded!

BTW,I don't really think that's a good way to depict Fischer. 18 y/o away from home on a constant basis for the first time, rooming with a kid who's probably a little bit more experienced in life and by all accounts seems to act like an a-hole at times? On a team where the culture is maybe not so great? (DUI, multiple drug use suspension, underage arrest, significant injuries from an accident, etc) Isn't it the coaches responsibility to have a handle on his team?

As for his Burger Boys? You realize that he hasn't signed one outside of a 150 mile radius of where he lives? Those other blue bloods you mentioned? We aren't in that conversation man!

The season being decent and a surprise? We were picked at the bottom? Nowhere to go but up! I'm not sure we've went up as much as the rest of the B1G has come down 1-3 in our last four. I'm all for giving him a chance but...we'll see.

The most concerning thing to me is that when I look at his long term track record he's not doing appreciably better than he did at Marquette. If you take out his first three years at IU his winning percentage is only slightly better than at Marquette.

I'd hope we aspire to be greater than that. If Crean can get us there great. If he can't? Look elsewhere.

Elite eight?6-4 record with the favorable part of the schedule coming up? What was the B1G record against other top 25 teams this season? Not very good. Spineless blaming? They have given a pretty damn big opening for any blame they've received. I'm not sure exactly what you're referencing with that.

TBH folks on both sides of this argument need to wait and see how things play out. Time will prove whether Crean and his teams are successful. My question to you? What do you define as success?

I think everyone here wants IU to succeed. I do. I don't know Crean personally but if his teams win and are reasonably behaved off the court then I'm good with it.

I think you forgot about Vonleh when you wrote this line.
