Magnanimous

Indiana won't be Indiana until it wants to be Indiana

I think you forgot about Vonleh when you wrote this line.

You are right. I did. I would say still that we aren't close to competing with those other programs for those recruits.

I really don't care who he recruits I just want IU to be in the conversation for the FF and NC on a really regular basis. Not really sure but I don't believe Pitino gets a whole lot of Burger Boys and he's kept Louisville relevant which leads me to say that I don't feel you necessarily have to get the highest ranked recruits to win.

I think Crean has some good qualities but in the end it all comes down to wins and losses and being competitive at the highest level. Not asking much am I? Lol

All fair points, I think. I don't weigh in much on the Crean topic, but I would best be described as a fence sitter who has been impressed (mostly) by this season so far, but who also worries about the long term prospects for the program.

For some of the older posters( I'm 36) when did Indiana stop being the indiana program you grew up with? No matter what happens with the program moving forward indiana will always be special to me (that's the way it is in this state passed on from dads to sons) my 3 year old wears is candy stripes and says go Iu , yogi for 3, purdue and Illini blah. The moment for me that I realized our program was heading in a downward trend was when we lost 2 straight years by 20 Pts to Pepperdine and St. John's

I feel This program will get back to a form of its oldself, selfishly because I want my kid to feel the joys watching an Iu team compete at the highest level. I have found having a 3 year old pat u on the back and say it's ok dad Iu will win another day helps soften a loss as I get older

I almost hate weighing in on these topics, but I'll bite on this one. For me, it was the mid to late 90s. I remember the Pepperdine and Colorado losses and just shaking my head.

But I firmly believe IU is a sleeping giant right now. The fan base and resources will always keep it close, but that one or two pieces need to be in place to fully wake it.

IIRC part of the rumor was that Luke did go to Crean asking for a different roommate, and Crean refused. I heard that somewhere, I can't remember where though.

Maybe crean was hoping and encouraging Luke to be a positive influence on Troy. (If all of that is even true). Could have been more important for Luke to toughen up and get respect from his teammates and for Troy to learn how to not be a D-bag.

Honestly though, if there were issues there to start with, how would changing roommates for Luke to obviously avoid Troy be beneficial. It would just undermine any respect and comradery that could have been possible. Having them work out their issues might just have been the best way.

To me that is asking Fischer to do Creans job. TBH, considering all that's transpired since, I'm not so sure that more of the team wouldn't have sided with TW than with Fishy.

IDK, what's done is done.

not sure what to say, not making it up. I bought my tickets through the school and was in an all IU section and the boos and tells for Stevens and you suck Crean was horrendous in the second half. Where did you sit?

Sit with a bunch of IU losers?
