IU vs Lamar Post Game Thread

Recommended Posts

Another good offensive performance. JBJ is so good offensively. Yogi, RoJo and Stan were good as well. Another good performance in terms of turnovers.

The defense was awful! Hanner and Troy were terrible on defense. As a team we play defense with our hands down, and that is a horrible habit. That's a leadership IMO. That needs to start with guys like Yogi, Z and Hanner. Hanner has got to get it together! Agree with someone else that said Troy looks exactly the same as he did last year.

Stan is fully committed to rebounding so that is a big help. Him, yogi, Robert and sometimes JBJ seems to really get after it fully. We shoot a lot of threes, yea, but we also don't get the long rebounds.

I keep watching and these guys are assuming the shot is going in WAY too much.

I think i like Holt.. hate we didn't push out so we could get him so more floor time

here is something that I think that is hampering Hanner rebounds...

he is so focused on blocking out (which is good), that he is essentially allowing teammates to gather rebounds more effectively...

he's got to get to the point where he is boxing out and pursuing rebounds and he will be a force...

on the flip side, it wouldn't hurt to get another big to help out more (Holt and Priller) to enable him to do so...

I'll have to focus on watching him more closely when the ball goes up, but I don't feel like I see Hanner boxing out that hard.

Welp......

Hartman played like I had expected. Hope this was the aberration and not the other way around.

Our best 3 are Rob, JB2, Yogi by FAR!!

Team and individual D was awful.

Troy was hot and cold on O and frigid on D. Play some D Troy, please.

Better game by Stan, not saying much. Better FT stroke.

Hanner disappointing again. Slightly better but disappointing still.

Holt has promise.

Z man better start hitting shots/less streaky. That's his specialty.

Seemed uninterested in playing D, Trying to run score up.

Crean did his part fairly well. Decent Sub patterns and use of TOs.

Better get up for Mondays game. Or else!

I thought Crean made a great move to go small at the 4-minute mark. Not necessarily the act of going small, but that he basically decided that he was putting in the 5 guys that played hardest regardless of position. Hopefully it sent a message to our "bigs".

His in game decision making has been much improved thus far.

This was painful to watch. It'll be interesting to see how this season goes. It may not be pretty, but it seems like this team knows how to win. We've got enough fire power to get us through slumps. Defense was terrible. Troy looked awfu

The offense is actually fun to watch most of the time. Interior defense is about as bad as I've seen right now. Looks like we are gonna see if our threes can beat the opponents easy two in the paint.

Agreed. I personally prefer a balanced game that includes solid defense, but a win is a win.

Did we just copy SMU's off-season schedule? Does the laziness of this administration no know bounds?

It's that Hoosier Classic or whatever isn't it? Like 4 teams play each other and they give it a name that never gets used. Us, SMU, EWU, and Lamar maybe? I could just be making this up, but I thought I saw it somewhere.

The schedule refers to it as the "Hoosiers Showcase." It includes the last three games along with Monday night's.

not only the Hoosier Classic...but add the Indiana Classic as well...

automatic 4 wins per year in the 80's and 90's

Just watched the game on DVR and I already knew IU won, so I didn't have as much emotion in it if I had watched it live.

I really liked our offensive movement and passing.

I thought Holt looked really good and aggressive. Looking forward to seeing more minutes from him.

Thought Stan had a strong game. Missed a few shots that he'll make in a few weeks.

Thought Troy was aggressive on both ends. He seems rusty but that will improve. Had some good cuts I thought.

HMP was aggressive on O. Needs to make FTs

D. Hate IU in 2-3 zone. Spacing is all off. See the alley oop. Rebound! Lamar hit some tough shots in spots.

We're still going to simply shoot a lot of teams out of the gym.

Off-conference scheduling is dumb.
