Lol. That is ironic haha.

The John Hancock thing was a joke because of "signature" need to change it soon.

The Freedom is Slavery is a reference to Orwell's 1984 (which I have not read, but a teacher of mine used it as one of his quotes of the week). I definitely don't believe Freedom is Slavery, and from what I know about/my teacher said about Orwell he didn't either.

I wasn't sure if you knew that John Hancock was an aristocrat that literally fought tooth and nail against the resistance in Boston,

all the way up until the point where the British took his wealth and home...

and he was "forced" to chose to side with the Colonists...and then he decided that Liberty was an important issue...

I'm not looking to get into history lesson tonight...I just found it humorous of not only what you posted, but that the two thoughts were put together...I can presume that is exactly what he thought, going into the revolution!

That is a reason why more than one person chose to fight against the British though, they saw more and more that the British were violating their unalienable, God-given rights, and damaging/unfairly taking/taxing their property, eventually they had enough. Even the declaration itself starts off saying that throwing off the British government was their last resort, and that several unrepaired offenses forced them to do so.

I get that Hancock probably had some other motives, but I also know that losing property had a lot to do with it for a lot of the colonists.

If memory serves correctly, you are/were a history teacher, correct?

Edit: sorry for straying off-topic

nah...I'm not a teacher...but I am a history/military buff...

and you are correct with this post...it took all kinds of folks saying enough is enough...

I'm guessing that I/we have derailed this thread and will be encouraged to get back on track...I take full blame for the derailment...please forgive me.

OK. I've been getting quite impassioned with history and government lately. Helps having a good teacher and getting to really read and latch on to GOOD text for yourself. Idk if we have an OT history thread on here. But I'm up for good discussion anytime.

Edit: sorry mod was typing as you posted

I honestly don't know a thing about this Thomas Bryant,  but I've watched a bit of tape, and seen some photos of him. He doesn't look to be all that "intimidating". Is it just me or does he look particularly sophomoric?

I think if we're hoping he comes to IU as some savior for the team and Tom's job, he'd better come here with jets on his ass and a lot more muscle. But I could be wrong....

He almost looks like a 4 inch taller version of Emmitt Holt.

If he plays with that passion, and it looks like he does from what I've seen he will be a great player.

 I hope it's as a Hoosier.

Disagree wholeheartedly.  NZ will be back for sure.

If he graduates from his grad program over the summer there is nothing left for him to actually do at IU academically and I don't think he could even stay if he or we wanted him to

What about a Doctoral program or post grad work. Do these qualify for NCAA eligility?

Sorry, I know this is off topic for this thread.

It's almost impossible to go 10 posts without a comment that matches the thought, but that doesn't veer it off track.

I hope Thomas Bryant has had a couple days of positive reflection on his awesome IU visit and that he's been daydreaming about how he can lead us next season against many of these teams that have given us trouble on the inside.

So do we have any confirmation that during timeouts on Saturday CTC just walked up to TB/TM/MM and circled the middle of the post and said "THIS IS WHAT WE NEED!" (while just yelling "JUST SHOOT THE DAMN 3" at the huddle)? If so I don't know what else needs to be done besides asking TB number he'd like and what his jersey size is.

Is that pure conjecture, or have you heard/read that from a confirmed/reliable source?

If so, not what I'm hoping to hear coming from an IU basketball coach..
