Stuhoo Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 For Thomas Bryant: Winning at a stable, 25+ mpg IU > Winning at a stable, platoon UK and > Winning at an unstable, 25+ mpg Syracuse. Happydaze 1 Quote
Happydaze Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Looks like Bryant definitely took notice of last nights game. If he wants playing time IU is the place to be. I think next year we could be scary good! ccgeneral and southsidehoosier 2 Quote
bnkepner Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 For Thomas Bryant: Winning at a stable, 25+ mpg IU > Winning at a stable, platoon UK and > Winning at an unstable, 25+ mpg Syracuse. Except he'll have a few guys in front of him at Syracuse. Chris McCullough is going to be back next year as a sophomore and he is basically the same player as Bryant. McCullough was averaging 28mpg as a starter as a freshman. So Bryant will have to compete with him. Whereas at IU he would most likely be the main big. bnkepner Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 McCullough is projected to go in the first round of the draft... to the Pacers. That was until he went down with a season ending injury. I highly doubt he declares now. I don't see many teams taking a chance on a rookie that barely played half the season and thats coming off an ACL tear. They did with Nerlens Noel but McCullough hasn't received as much hype Quote
BGleas Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Even before he got hurt, Boheim made some public comments about knowing McCullough was probably going to leave after one year, but that he really was nowhere near ready to actually go to the NBA. FKfootball Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 We are a great situation for Bryant. But 3 guys have to leave. So this is moot right now. Quote

Walking Boot of Doom Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 4 reasons I believe we land Bryant: 1) Between us, Syracuse, and Mizzou, we have had the best wins, and it's not even close. We may be the only one of the three that even makes the tournament. 2) We look like a team gearing up to make a run this year, and with the right additions, be a major threat next year. Mizzou may be a few years out from capitalizing on their talent, and Syracuse, well, Syracuse may have a date with the executioner after the NCAA finishes their investigation. 3) Thomas Bryant sounds as though he is in the driver's seat with his college decision, not so much his mother any more. This benefits us, and a team not yet mentioned, UK. 4) I believe that Bryant is smart enough to realize that UK will be loaded with guys just as good and better than him taking his minutes. UK won't necessarily have a good idea of who is leaving either, and with the Thon reclassification looming, the odds of a spot opening for Bryant at UK don't look good. At IU, the chemistry of our current team, and the gaping hole in the middle should be enough to draw him in. Crean has proven that he can get guys like Bryant to the league, and I think he can win over Bryant's mother. This is my optimistic reasoning behind my prediction of Thomas Bryant to the Hoosiers.
