Well of the last several years that everyone in the media as gotten on their knees for Virginia as such an amazing team, they’ve done nothing to prove it. No Final Fours. I think 1 Elite 8. The first ever loss to a 16 seed. If Bennett allowed his team to run a bit and average 75 ppg, they’d be a title contender.

My point is this is the 2018 - 2019 season. Not 2017 or 2016. Virginia plays Duke twice. I'm not a really smart guy, but I am waiting to make my assessment of Virginia until I see them play the most athletically gifted team in the country. I think those games will shed more light on whether or not this team can defend the most athletic guys, and keep up in a scoring battle.

I dunno...that post makes you seem like a pretty smart guy to me.

We are gonna have to come out ready to play tomorrow. Louisville has already shown they have the ability to beat good teams. Not sure how we are a 7 point favorite. It is a must win now as well after losing to Arky. Can’t be sleep walking or making lazy passes in this one. Louisville is going to play the passing lanes, hustling after every 50/50 ball and be in our face. They always have some really good athletes and players whose last names are hard to pronounce down in the paint. Hopefully this team comes out ready to fight.

The reason we are 7 point favorites at home is because we are a decent team and at home. Just have to take care of business. It’s really gonna blow your mind when we are favored against Butler too.

Here is how I see things so far after one month and two B1G games:

  1. Michigan-Zavier Simpson is their engine. Their freshman is pretty good as well.
  2. Michigan State-Sold trio of juniors with depth. I think they could be dangerous in March.
  3. Wisconsin-Healthy with a solid road win at Iowa. Trice and Davison have been huge.
  4. Indiana-Really need to take care of the basketball. Need another person to step up on offense.
  5. Maryland- Might be the most talented team in the B1G but not big on Turdgeon.
  6. Iowa- Franimals best team he has had. Like Maryland, not big on coaching. Played two tough B1G teams already.
  7. Purdue-Carsen Edwards is carrying this team. Would be a bottom 3 team without him. Future looks not so good in West Lafayette.
  8. Ohio State-Not drinking the Ohio State Kool-Aid yet. They lost too much from last year.
  9. Minnesota- Was big on Minny unitl O$U blew them out at home.
  10. Nebraska- Like Maryland and Iowa, talented but terrible coaching.
  11. Northwestern- Could surprise people. Played Michigan and IU tough. If Ryan Taylor gets going watch out.
  12. Penn State- Much better defensive team. Could upset some teams in January and February.
  13. Rutgers- Solid road win at Miami. Played Sparty and Whisky tough.
  14. Illinois- A JOKE

MVP Carsen Edwards

COY Beilein

FOY Romeo Langford

1st Team

Winston

Carsen

Romeo'

Bruno

Happ

Carsen Edwards isn't even in the conversation for B1G Player of the Year as of right now.  Purdue isn't that good, and his shooting percentage is awful.

I can see being favored by Butler. I would have figured like 3 points against UofL. Something closer. Especially with Louisville recently besting Michigan State. They have a couple losses similar to ours. To Tennessee by 11 on a neutral court and by 3 at Marquette. I think they beat Seton Hall on the road. And we only beat NW by 2 at home. Louisville looks like a better team than NW. so I figured it would be closer.

A lot of it is being at home. We would be favored by a couple on a neutral court. 7 to me sounds about right. They are like us a team that has looked pretty good at home for the most part. 3 points says they are better on a neutral court. I don’t think they are that. I am not saying we are a ton better, but like you always say we have two possible 1st All B1G players. That’s difference imo.

That makes sense. Don’t think I’d take the over but I guess that’s why I don’t gamble.

Edit: we will be up by 9 and they’ll hit a full court shot to end the game.

Yeah I wouldn’t take the over but I would be surprised if we don’t win. I think the environment will be something they won’t see often. Louisville travels typically travels well. Probably not tomorrow. I am more worried about Butler next week tbh.

I can understand that argument. Who do you think is?

My noncon most difficult games in order of most difficult was:

- Dook (no brainer)
- Arkansas
- Louisville
- Butler
- Marquette

The Marquette and Dook games were easy to place there. I thought Arkansas was the second most difficult because of the true road environment and how they pressure. I give the nod to Louisville over Butler because of their players and style of play. I think the home court eventually plays in our favor and we win. Butler will be no easy game because of the instate factor and they always play hard.

I really want to see multiple instate matchups each season so that players can better understand what it means to play for IU. Butler, ISU, Fort Wayne, Ball State, etc. are going to give all they have to beat IU. It's good for our players to learn what playing hard is all about. I believe this would help.

MSU-Florida is the perfect example of the difference between a competitive game and a good one. Florida can’t throw it in the ocean , but only down 5 because of MSU)s terrible ball security.

We don’t need to be playing ISU and Ball State and the like. We need to be playing Kentucky, Duke, UNC and Kansas types 2-3 a year.

Agreed, if we want to be viewed as an elite team, we need to play and beat other elite teams. We're the only blueblood fanbase that feels we have to beat everyone in our own state to prove a point. The rest of the country doesn't care if we're better than Notre Dame or Butler. It's why I've wanted us to get out of the Crossroads Classic, replace the football school to our east and take our rightful place in the CBS Sports Classic with UCLA, UK and UNC.

So where does it say you can't play 2-3 against Kentucky, Duke, UNC, and Kansas types if you play 2-3 against Butler, Notre Dame, ISU, Fort Wayne, Ball State, and Evansville types? Doesn't compute. Doesn't compute.

I'd also like to see one game a season played at a different indiana gym. If we're locking down the state it'd be cool for kids to play back around home. (This doesn't mean we couldn't play games against teams like Kentucky, UNC, Duke, and Kansas types on neutral courts or true road games, for those that need clarification)

I've always thought this. Why does O$U play in it? I think they should do a triple header with us, UNC, Duke, UK, UCLA, and Kansas. Rotate every 5 years.
