And the National Championship game from that year. UCLA over Purdud 92-72. The complete disregard for defensive intensity is striking, as is the lack of physical strength training for these guys. Kareem (Lew Alcindor) is basically walking around, and finding layups. Any shot beyond 17 feet is unguarded, and you can see why - many are missed anyway.

It's easy to see why RMK was a revelation , even with inferior talent at Army.

I don't think anyone (at least under 80) is remembering the 60's and 70's as the good ol' days of Basketball, wistfully or otherwise.

I don’t care what anyone says about the good ole days……anyone who isn’t impressed by guys 6’10” and over who can shoot from 20 feet is nuts.

This hasn't been talked about much but I have noticed it when looking through the schedules.

Also, I am tired of watching basketball on Saturdays and only 1-2 big ten games are on. That is ridiculous. Nobody wants to watch/attend games on mondays, fridays, or sundays at noon. Play the damn games on saturday with everyone else and give one weeknight game. It is not that hard.

Yea but the Big Ten ALWAYS feels they are super special and try to "outsmart" everyone else. Really just makes them morons with a product worth less than a dog dookie.

I believe IU has 1 Saturday home game. Like how does that happen

Plus if we are going to at least pretend they are student athletes, weekend games means less missed classes.

To be fair, Purdue —despite having 8 weekend conference games — also only has 2 Saturday home games and the first isn’t until Feb 5.

I watched a lot of 80’s and 90’s games during the lockdown in 2020, and man those Knight teams are so fun to watch. Just shining examples of fundamentally sound basketball.
