Hopkins was ready to take over and Jimmy decided to stay longer to coach his son. Agree that has been a program killer

Sometimes you just have to get a backbone and let a legend go. Indiana held onto Knight for too long as well sadly. It’s a very difficult situation. They definitely need to have a talkin with him and move on.

That picture of him sleeping while recruiting has likely been used against him. Lol

Yeah, they were a powerhouse there for a while. They also were willing to bend rules all over the place.

They are a sleeping giant in the northeast.

You mean providing an environment for student-ATHLETES to get high as a kite and not worry about drug tests or schoolwork?

Always felt they should have went and made their own conference along with UConn and Pitt.

Am at the airport in Norfolk. Go to stand to buy a soda. Guy sees my IU hat and says that's his favorite team. I think he's being friendly, so I say: "Yep. 10-1, but there's a lot of work to do."

He says: "The problem is, we got no consistent outside shooter. With the way the game is played these days,  you gotta be able to hit those 3-pointers. We can't do that."

I guess he knew more about IU hoops than I thought!

Sounds like every IU fan I talk to.

If Im Cole Anthony and a lock to be a top 5 pick no way Id come back this year. And what about Obi Toppin from Dayton projected in the top 5 as well? Impressive.

The Obi Toppin one is interesting. I think teams are trying to find another Siakim. These things always end up biting teams in the butt. He’s talented. Not sure he’s Top 5 draft pick talented.

Purdue has a tricky game tonight. On the road at Ohio

Interesting scheduling choice by Purdue to schedule a road game during finals week and a game before the crossroads classic

And they'll be playing without Haarms.  He is officially out for this game.

It’ll all depend on if they’re hitting shots. If they’re not hitting shots and not getting it inside they’ll struggle at Ohio. I guess that can be said for most college teams though.

Trevion Williams is a nice player. Curious if he seizes this opportunity. Many Purdue people have wanted him to get more minutes.

Excellent post scorer, but he’s never defended well enough or been in shape enough to play more than 20-25 minutes per.

Purdue is really gonna miss Haarms’s interior defense.

I could really see teams going at him offensively to get him in foul trouble. Especially if he is adding minutes. Those tired fouls are no joke and he has struggled to play long minutes at a high level.
