College Bball Thread

Has anyone else noticed that college ball seems to be more "down" this year? There very clearly isn't a great team. It seems like every week someone in the top 5 is losing or having a tough time with an average team, among other top 25 teams having head scratching losses. There is so much more parody than normal in my opinion. I wouldn't put my money on any team to win it all this year. My dad and I were talking about how this may be the year another mid-major, ala George Mason, makes the final 4.

College basketball has been "down" for quite some time. One and dones have ruined it. Transfers have ruined it. NBA-style offenses have ruined it.

I think changing the shot clock to 30 seconds has actually helped, as games seem a bit faster and scoring seems to have gone up a bit. But the NBA just has way too much influence. Players want to get there even if they have no shot, and NBA teams want these kids about 2-3 years earlier than they should be getting them because NBA people all believe they can find the next Lebron/Kobe/Garnett.

Actually the NBA wants to push the age limit to 20 years and two years out of high school, players union won't let them though.

I think ink the real issue is your point about players leaving early that really have no business leaving and aren't ever going to be NBA players.

You're right; Brooks should be looking at his first suspension with additional similar conduct to bring substantially harsher suspensions, and Grayson Allen should be on his fourth successively harsher suspension.
Agreed?

But the conference looked at it and said there wasn't anything conclusive and nothing could be determined. Now explain to me the law of physics on that one.

I think what Stu is saying is after 3 consecutive suspensions getting exponentially worse there probably shouldn't be a Grayson Allen this year. The 4th probably would never have to happen. I hope he doesn't hurt a kid doing what he does.

Kobe hit the nail on the head.

Kobe wants sports columnists to become experts at "understanding psychological behavior" instead of reporting what happens and giving opinions as to what they think of it?!? I suppose they should have attempted to understand his 'sexual assault while married' instead of judging it.

What utter, complete nonsense. Kobe Bryant should be embarrassed to read that drivel, and even more ashamed that he is the one who spouted it.
