I thought that coaches on the PA was verboten. I remember back in the day when Knight used to do that… but didn’t the NCAA issue orders to not allow that? T him up.

I don’t know if anyone had seen Dakich’s tweet about Bates from last year, but I hadn’t until this. If he genuinely thought Bates was the problem there last year he didn’t watch them 1 single time. And good on Gates for clapping back on that creep.

Dennis Gates was a first team academic all-American at Cal Berkeley who got his degree in three years. I’m pretty sure he’s smart enough to handle Dakich.

The question isn’t whether he’s good enough for IU, but I do question how some IU fans question if he is. It’s sad that some school that’s not Indiana will likely have him as their head coach next year. Hopefully if the two pie in the sky candidates don’t happen, Dolson is smart enough to take a long hard look at a guy like this. interestingly, he would cost IU more to bring here than Dusty May -makes more currently and has a bigger buyout .

I never go out of my way to listen to or read anything Dakich puts out. But I see enough here to consider him an embarrassment to the program. He’s probably the leader in the clubhouse for former players who’ve gotten more from the program than given back to it. 
 

Also, Tamar Bates is a senior 2/combo guard averaging 13ppg on 50/40/93 shooting. Sounds like the type of guy IU was trying to bring in this offseason.
