Michigan St cooked Nebraska. Ohio State soundly beat Rutger.

Home cook in the B1G is so tough. NW beating Illinois last night.

Gotta win the home games.

Over 60% of Rutgers scoring coming from their three stud freshmen.  But it's not like a normal PIkiell team.....have struggled on defense and are 5-4.  Best to play them early in the conference schedule -- IU plays them on January 2nd, which is probably a positive.

Yeah, they aren’t a tournament team even with the 2 superstars. That’s why I like the transfer portal. Age and experience is definitely a better recipe to winning college basketball games.

But Home Court in B1G is hard to overcome no matter the team. Well, besides maybe Minnesota.

Michigan 85, Iowa 83

Dusty May 1-0 vs. the Franimal.

Sandfort was unreal at the end.  He was my completely unrealistic #1transfer hopeful.

Rice, Gallo Sandort, McKneely, Reneau.  I like Ballo too if course. He’s the only Hoosier that likes to rebound. Defense might be a real issue though. lol.

IU transfer portal target Tony Perkins has been no bueno for Missouri.....injured for a couple of games, not very good in others.  22 mpg, 8 points, 2.0 reb, 2.5 assists and shooting 39/10/76.

Same with Connor Hickman.  25 mpg, 6.4 points.  Only shooting 29% from three.

Leland Walker has played pretty well at Florida Atlantic.  30 mpg, 11.1 points, 2.9 reb, 5.2 assists.

Amari Williams is the big man from Drexel that IU passed up in favor of Ballo.  Williams averaging 9.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks.  I definitely prefer Ballo but Williams has been decent.

Player I really liked but never gained any traction at IU was Toibu Lawal from VCU.  Wasn't really a fit at IU but kid is 6'8" and raw and can absolutely leap out of the building.  Was averaging a shade under 8 points and 6 rebounds at VCU.  Landed at Virginia Tech and is doing pretty well -- 11.4 points, 6.6 rebounds in 25 minutes and is shooting 60/33/72.

I actually can’t believe he didn’t transfer. Maybe Iowa ponies up a bunch of money.

Archie miller 9-0. Maybe it is us lol

I don't think Archie was a personality fit at IU.  But I do wonder what he could have done at IU with the current transfer portal and NIL.

Not much. Just like Woodson guards consistently looked worse here than they did their previous stops.  Guys came here and forgot how to hit 3s

Myles Rice is better in almost every meaningful statistic than last year playing almost 5 minutes less per game.

Mostly against absolute cupcakes and Whoopdie doo there are exceptions to every terrible coach. But in general this has been where guards come to die for two regimes.

Oh cool one kid whose work ethic exceeds his coaches is triumphing over the adversity of having to coach for a lazy moron.  Doesn’t change the fact that by in large what I said has been the norm

The only other transfer guards who have played meaningful minutes in the last 4 years are X and Parker Stewart. Stewart was only here 1 year and between his dad dying and the step up in competition, not sure he could have been expected to do better.

X’s statistics while at IU were as good if not better than at Pitt. Shooting % up. Assists up. Turnovers less. His one full season at IU looked very similar to his 3 at Pitt. Unfortunately, the other two years were cut short by injuries.

Hard to say he came to IU and died.
