I mean, it wasn’t just a blow by from Howard. He comes in yelling “I’ll remember that s***” at Gard. If that isn’t instigating this entire thing, I’m not sure what is.

Wait what?  Howard said what he said in passing.  It was a classic blow by and you can’t physically grab someone the way Gard did in today’s world.  Nope. Can’t happen. Gard instigated everything that took place by grabbing at Howard.  Let him blow by and that’s the end of it but he chose to put his hands on the man.

Or…Howard keeps his mouth shut and none of this happens. At least he didn’t threaten to kill Gard I guess.

Howard is an opposing coach and not one of his players. If Howard wants to blow by him yapping about remembering it that's on him. Gard was out of line in thinking he could somehow correct Howard, physical confrontation is crossing the line. Howard grabbing his shirt and striking an assistant was out of line and should result in a lengthy suspension.
This may very well end handshake lines in the Big Ten. Just like court storming has ended some rivalry games on campus. The narrative will be "we can't do that anymore because someone will get hurt" instead of saying "man, I wish adults wouldn't act like children." Blaming the handshake line should get Howard past this one.

You can make what you want out of the blow by and what was said and view Howard however you want but you can’t stop Howard and put your hands on the man in the world we live in.  Howard didn’t break stride.  Classic blow by.  Pulled down his mask and said what he said and pulled back up his mask.  Didn’t even look at Gard.

Yes this is incorrect. There was no UW player nor staffer touching Howard nor any of his players nor staff when the incident happened. In fact, Howard had to lunge over his own players to strike Krabbwnhoft in the face.

Howard punching someone has nothing to do with UW players being dirty or not and his own explanation of the situation also confirms that.

Wrong.  UW staffer is seen in the video putting his hands on UM #44.  He should be fired immediately.

Sure. Gard isn’t innocent. But this isn’t a thing at all if Howard doesn’t act like an idiot before, during, and after the handshake line.

How about #5 just smiling about all the friends made along the way.

edit: this was after getting absolutely rocked by a sucker punch by the way. Wisconsin #0 might not be long for the CBB world. I find something new every time I watch any of the angles. A new favorite is the already very punchable Caleb Houstan trying to restart everything after both teams start heading their separate ways. He has to find teammates to hold him back.

Howard is a clown for doing what he did but I’m shocked at how many grown men on this board think it’s ok for another man to grab/touch another man when he doesn’t want to be touched. Keep your hands to yourself. If the man wants to blow by and say whatever he wants, let him. Don’t touch him. Especially if he’s bigger, stronger, and more upset than you.

Yeah, it just replayed again and Gard's actions scream baiting (go figure) but Howard has to restrain himself.

Howard plays his starters till the end. Then does a blow by and says “I’ll remember this ****” - that to me is the instigation.

Gard grabbing his arm is step 2. Then after an exchange you see Gard taking steps backward away from Howard and is a good 10 feet away from Howard.
Howard then, being held back by his own players throws a punch over their body and strikes the face of the UW assistant.

Then UM players start throwing punches

the Gard v Howard situation was diffused, they were separated, nothing severe taking place. Then Howard takes the situation from a 5 to a 10 for no reason

Being in the wrong and talking **** as you walk past someone is the instigation. Can’t do that

you dont get to hit and run

The league, and the nation, hell the world for that matters, is way too sanitized.

Not trying to say violence isn't bad or solves things. What I am saying is that people are both good and bad, and both.... and life overall is grey and always will be despite what utopian ideas you might by in to.

Human nature.... flaws. And punches lol....
